PC Tools update

Running Windows Vista Home Basic on this machine. I use PC Tools Anti Virus (engine version 6.6.1.16) database version 10.004.193 ( 6.14880) Product Version 2009 . Within the last few weeks, the auto-update no longer, well, auto updates. Although there is a red x and in red on the PC Tools main screen it says "Last update was 20 days ago), I try to update it and it says that the Anti-Virus is up-to-date . I dont remember if there was a yearly renewal for PC Tool antivirus, but i haven't received any notice of such, and I checked the Anti Virus update forum here on MG but couldnt find any information. I dont want this to turn into a big problem .
I've searched "PC Tools Update" here on MG as well as other variations on the search terms .
Any suggestions ?
