Actually, my favorite was the crocodile . . . I'd LOVE to be able to bring that home next time my wife says "Supper? It's up to you. Surprise me." LOL

'Pig Faces' or we know them as pork snouts and cheeks make for a great headcheese, which is cooked meat in a cold aspic. Very tasty indeed.:drool I make a similar thing but with pork hocks instead as it's hard to get cheeks.

 

Does anybody know why the orange juice would be banded with the cooking oil?

And what is the best temperature to cook crocodile at?

 

I have eaten alligator in a restaurant a few years ago. Tasted like chicken. :-D Actually there is an alligator farm a few miles down the road. No tours though...

They have to feed a billion people they can't put everything in little packets everyone would starve,they just build three big piles meat,other and anti bacterial underwear for men open the doors and stand the F&&& back!

 

Ya, unsanitary according to our standards but you won't get sick from the slabs of meat if one cooks it properly, it's the processing into burger meat and undercooking is what gets us mostly in trouble. Also depends how they raise their animals, is it like our factory cattle etc. production or is it the normal way these animals grow up.

Did you know that it's corn and crowded conditions that gave rise to e. coli H0157? Feed cattle grass for their last 5 days and the bugs are reduced by %99 but the growers want to keep every last ounce on their beasts before market. Oh, with the effluent of corn fed cattle comes cross-contamination of vegetables if the irrigation of such fields is compromised.

 

Hi Augie, We had a farm, and raised everything we ate. From beef, to pork, chicken, turkey, rabbits and even pheasants. Our beef was corn fed, and the best darn eating we had. Also, we did our own butchering, and I knew what went into our meat. We also had a garden, and we never got sick on anything we ate. Home grown and home farmed. Our meat wasn't sitting out in vats like in the link below. There to be said for sanitary conditions.. Yeah, that did make me sick. How many people had their hands in that meat? What was on their hands, and where were they BEFORE they touched that meat?

We never had any e-coli in our food. Our Beef & Pork was USDA inspected, and stamped. Even today, I process any deer that is taken and even the bear. Yes, I do the cutting, wrapping, etc. I think the pix speak for themselves in that link.

 

It's just a whole other culture.
