Outlook

I recently reformatted per a mean virus. Prior to the reformat, I had Outlook. I thought it was a preinstalled program I would be able to reinstall by going to Add/Remove Programs and selecting Add/Remove Windows Components, but I can't find it there. Any ideas appreciated.

 

Microsoft Outlook is a component of the Microsoft Office Suite.

What you may be looking for is Microsoft Outlook Express, which was built into XP. I am not sure about Vista, but with Windows 7 I know it was an add-on component available for free from Microsoft.

Thanks fir reply, I have O. Express. I use XP, and am looking for Outlook. I had it before reformat, and never purchased it. I believe it was Outlook 2093 and came with the computer?

 

Therefore you had the Office 2003 suite installed on the computer. I would contact the computer manufacturer and see if they can provide you with it, or you will have to purchase the new version from Microsoft, Office 2010

Unfortunately, Outlook typically comes with Microsoft office but can be purchased alone also. It usually does NOT come bundled with a computer tho. It was included, you probably received a secondary install disk.

This has Live Mail and Live messenger plus a few other apps. Its a cross between Outlook and Outlook Express.

There are plenty of computers on the market that have Microsoft office preinstalled.

 

Only trial versions though, surely?

 

Nope, I know of plenty of systems here in the UK where you can buy PCs with Office preinstalled. Obviously they cost more, but they do have it.
