I just happen to be looking at peoples MG homepages, and I made it to one of our local well known Malware experts, chaslang ,

And I noticed he had, 65K in total post. :confused
And even more impressive that that, he has been thanked 4200 times in less than half the amount of post. Just wanted to give major props, not that it means much coming from me, but WOW

Its all spam,chas is obsessed with the world cup and keeps bringing it up the fact that England are playing USA on the 12th of June in Africa.

But yeah pretty amazing how much dedication that takes,,if you notice the malware forum doesn't have sheer number of members qualified to help that many other forums have "or has much higher standards' but has a quite incredible volume of people needing help many times I've seen the viewing totals of the malware forum higher than all the other forums combined.

Chas and all those guys must have incredible amount of dedication pride to keep the forum one of the best in the world.

 

Truly, Chas and ALL of our dedicated Malware fighters deserve more respect for all they do and put up with.
Some people get downright rude when they don't get taken ahead of prior posters, or get themselves reinfected after being cleaned, claiming that they weren't taken care of properly.
If I were wearing a hat, I would take it off to those people.

Maybe some day, when this world is a better place, our malware fighters won't be buried up to their ears in work. Some day, when all stupid people are gone.

Then again, the Malware forum was how I got to Major Geeks, so maybe keeping it busy is a good thing? An influx of new users as awesomely smart and handsome as me is obviously something we should all wish for! :heli

Well said, and I fully agree. All malware fighters here deserve to be treated like the super-heroes they are, and it actually makes me angry every time I see someone complain or whine in that forum... do these people have any idea how much it would cost them if they had to take their infected systems to a shop? Apparently not.

My first ever post on MGs was in the Malware forum. I didn't actually get any help there, since my problem was not caused by malware, but I did receive a lot of great help in the Software forum that led to my problem being solved. I decided to stick around since everyone who posted and helped me out were not only smart and knowledgeable, but actually seemed nice as well. So basically I arrived because of a problem and stayed because of the community.

This upcoming September makes it four years as an MG member. I'm thinking of planning a celebration of some kind.

Pretty sure Malware was what brought me to this site as well. Actually, I'd say that more than half of active user, first came to MG with computer problems for one of the malware experts to help with.

 

It's the reason I'm here! I've read many post by chas and i hope he can directly help my very complicated problem! That's why i came here. Been downloading my anti-virus programs for other people from this very site! Thanks in advance Malware Pros!!

Some things have inevitably changed in the time i have been here and not always to my personal taste but there is no doubt that MGs is the number 1 place to be if you need help or want to learn.

Tim and Jim have built a unique forum with not only knowledgeable and helpful people but downloads that are safe to use, here you will not get flamed or insulted for your lack of knowledge but encouraged to learn.

There are many who just come to get their PC clean and leave without any words of thanks (it costs nothing to say thank you) but that does not deter the team.

Chas has a special place in the hearts of those who have had malware problems, as do all the malware team.

Live long and prosper MGs.

 

Echo the sentiments on the malware fighters dedication here. Their timeless and unparalleled quality in service- for no personal gain, is a testament to their selfless nature. Good karma to them.
Same for the mods and admins. Besides their quality posts in support forums, they do fabulous work in maintaining the decorum on MG.
Last but far from the least a big thanks to Tim & Jim for not only initiating but maintaining a top notch site. Kudos to you and your team.
Thanks to MG's I can claim to have more than an elementary knowledge in the workings of a Windows OS, it's maintenance and security.
