Network/Internet Driver Problem

I recently reformatted a computer and installed XP SP3 (reformat disc and had the CD key pre-installed in it). This computer is built from scratch from a local computer store using an Asus P5KPL-CM motherboard. Attached by PCI is a Linksys wireless-G network card and I can't connect to the internet to download drivers and to update Windows. I'm completely lost.

I did try installing the Linksys wireless-G network driver but that didn't work. I also went to the Asus website, searched for the P5KPL-CM model and there were many different versions of the driver plus they were separated by type, VGA, audio, LAN, etc. At this point I'm confused...actually I was confused from the start why installing Linksys wireless-G network driver didn't work.

Where do I go about from here? I know I need a network driver but for some reason, I installed the Linksys and it still doesn't work.

 

The computer has no ethernet card, only the wireless-G card I mentioned and yes I did download from the site's support section and moved it to the recently reformatted computer using a flash drive. After installing it, nothing.

There was nothing in the network connections after reformatting. Should I be seeing something? I installed the appropriate driver for the wireless-G card and still nothing. I installed the LAN section/part from Asus's site but that did me no good since there is no ethernet card.

 

I found out what was wrong. I didn't run the home/office network set-up wizard.
