I soft modded a Nintendo WiFi USB Adaptor.. I have Internet again!

Yeah.
A power surge frayed the power cord, and cracked the solder on the DC input jack. I think the motherboard might be fried too =[

Going to Geek Squad for a diagnostic tomorrow.

 

Nope. Diagnostic is free. A new board would be $250, the netbook is $300. Clearly not a smart idea.

 

Better to pop out another $50 and get a new Netbook.

Is it still under warranty? You might be able to get the whole thing replaced that way. If not, then obviously buying a new one is the most cost-effective solution.

 

What caused the power surge? Use a surge protector?

That's quite a spike to crack the solder.

 

No surge protector.

And yes, psychic broadband just kidding, I was using my dad's computer. 5 minutes at a clip :/

Its a safety valve that tries not to leave anyone out,when you enter the "I." status 'I'm gonna raise taxes.' 'I'm going to bitch at the prime minister for screwing up the country.' you instantly open yourself up to ridicule your not a team anymore,its them and us.
