I use mozilla as my search page and for my email. The problem is print on top of print which makes it impossible to read. It is not with every search and with every email but too often. Is there a solution?

My computer is relatively new and is a HP

    Hi

What Windows version do you have?

    What version of Mozilla?

Is your email via a client as in Thunderbird or Outlook/Outlook Express/Windows Mail/Eudora or via a webpage HTTP email as in Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo etc?

At times when text is overlapping its possible to be due to a lower screen resolution being used to what the application likes so right click the desktop and choose Properties > (depending on Windows version used) click Display or Screen Resolution and what do have listed? and move it up to a higher resolution.

If you find text hard to read at a higher screen resolution then try the accessability options of Mozilla HERE

I am using vista and I have no idea what number of the firefox and mozila I use. I did check the resolution and it was set at the hightest. I turned it down in case that should be the problem. I rechecked and I still am getting printing on top of printing which of course I cannot read.

Are ye using any addons for mozilla/firefox? If ye hit (while in firefox/mozilla) CTRL and + (this increases the text size) does it help?

If you have an LCD monitor, the resolution should be set to whatever
the native resolution is for that monitor.

It is also important to set the proper refresh rate that the
    manufacturer specifies for that monitor.

I have not changed the refresh setting as I do not know what it should be set on.

I am not sure I understand. The size of the text is not a problem unless somehow that is creating my problem.

The problem is that there is text on top of text and of course I cannot read it. On some sites where there is a load image option, I can click on that and it will put all the text correctly so there is no text on top of text. This is true for some of the online newspapers.

However for some sites that option is not available. For example when I try to pull up my bank account using mozilla it has writing on top of writing and I cannot use it.

I can go to internet explorer and click on my account using their search and it pulls it up with no text on text.

I only encounter this problem with mozilla which is my preferred search page.

I wonder if deleting and reinstalling would help

click START, then RUN, then type in:
firefox -safe-mode (press enter) See if there is text on top of text.

I went to start, but I did not see RUN.

also need to say I know nothing about safe mode except to avoid it as I believe it requires some technical ability.

Okay, click the windows key and the R key, this should bring up the run box. (note the windows key is on the left side of the keyboard between the ctrl and alt).

The Windows key usually has the Windows flag logo on it.

Keyboard Shortcut for the Run dialog is:
    Windows key + R

press and Hold the Windows key while pressing the letter R key

I want to thank you for the extra explanation about how to find the windows key. I did as you instructed and up came a program to download so I did that and it gave the option of repair problems but it did not tell me what the problems were so I clicked that.

Then nothing came up on my screen. I will see if it did fix the problem.

I want to thank everyone for taking the time to help me. I am an old woman who loves being on the computer but is not very literate.

I just read your original post. I'm shamed to say, I didn't realize you used mozilla suite, which is an old version of firefox and thunderbird.

There is an updated version of "mozilla" and it is now called seamonkey:

Actually, you are literate. You just have somewhat limited knowledge about
computer software, hardware and some general computer terminology.

    You'd be surprised how many people are in the same boat;
and many of them are younger than you.

There are many people who do not know how to use a support forum,
start a new thread and post replies as you have done.

Based on the last comments by theefool, you problems may be caused by
using an out of date program.

    Quote from Mozilla:
The Mozilla Suite is no longer supported by the Mozilla project.
If you are looking for a Mozilla browser, we recommend that you download either Firefox or SeaMonkey.

    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/browsers.html

Since it looks OK in Internet Explorer, your problem is probably with the software and not the hardware.

Just to clear things up, what you are referring to as a "search page" is
actually a Web Browser, often referred to simply as a browser.
The Mozilla Suite is composed of several main programs, one of which is
    a browser.

It is probably Not a good idea to access your bank account online using an
old, out of date and unsupported browser since there could be security
issues with the old program. It may not be safe to access that information
    online with the old software.

Click this link to go to the SeaMonkey project page and download (SAVE) the Current version:
    SeaMonkey

Remember where you save it so that you can find it when you're ready to
    install.

It's probably a good idea to uninstall the old program Before installing the new
SeaMonkey. That may not be Required, but that's what I recommend.

To Install and Uninstall programs go to:
Start button -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
