I've had this laptop only a few months now and recently I've started having some problems that come and go. I believe I have a Dell wireless (Braodcom) 1350 mini PCI card installed but at times the device manager will read Tru mobile 1300 and the 570x gigabit integrated controller card will just not be there sometimes. When that happens the wireless card has a yellow exclamation point next to it and in the properties box says "this device cannot start (code 10)" Has anyone else had these problems? Is there anyway I can fix it?

You might be having conflicts between the Dell card and the Tru mobile as both are wireless. The gigabit controller is for your wired connection only.
Go into Device Manager and disable the Tru mobile 1300 and see if that stops the problem.
You also might check to make sure only 1 wireless connection application is running at start up. You can check your running services in Task Manager after start up.

The 2 wireless cards don't show up at the same time it's one or the other. The one that shows up when the wireless is working is the dell wireless 1350 mini card I have no idea why the other one shows up in the device manager sometimes. The laptops shipped with one or the other from what I understand. I let windows manage my wireless and I disabled the dell wireless utility on start up. I read that the gigabit controller problem, people who have had it, have had to replace the motherboard =/ My AC jack in the laptop is also loose so I have to mess with it to get it to power up which I've heard others have this problem too idk how much that will cost yet.

Now that's a new one on me. If it's installed, it should be in Device Manager at all times even if it's not working. Is the Tru mobile on board as opposed to an add in? If so you could try getting into the BIOS and disabling from there.

An add in? It might be I got it used sadly I don't have resource cds for it or an XP disk to reformat or internet connection to get the drivers even if I did reformat it lol What would I look for in the BIOS? I've been there a few times just to check the wireless stuff but I've never seen a name or anything like that as far as wireless cards go....would that be on a different page?

"Dell offers two wireless networking options: the Intel Pro wireless 802.11b mini-PCI card--the third part of the Centrino puzzle--or Dell's own TrueMobile 1300 802.11b/g and TrueMobile 1400 802.11a/b/g mini-PCI cards instead of Intel's." I found this in a review so I'm thinking actually the 1350 was a swap out? I guess I'll have to check so my guess is they didn't remove the drivers from the other card but would that cause the device manager to switch between them like that?

    That's a possibility.
You can go here - http://support.dell.com/support/dow...D=LAT_PNT_PM_D600&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid= - and enter the Service Tag number (which should be on the laptop on a sticker). You can then find out what the original configuration was as sold to the original owner.
Compare this with what you've got now and clean out any software apps and drivers that don't apply to the wireless hardware you have now.

Well I did as you suggested and now I am more so confused because it says that the 1350 wireless card came with this laptop....

So I found this on the DELL community forum and this person explains it MUCH better than I do.

Windows frequently doesn't recognize my Broadcom 1350 WLAN MiniPCI Card when it starts, and I must shutdown and power on several times before it appears in device manager without a ! or a ?, appears in the icon tray, and then works fine. The name also switches from Dell Wireless 1350 WLAN MiniPCI to Trumobile 1300 WLAN MiniPCI.

This recognition problem will also occur with other hardware: the Broadcom Integrated Controller, the 02MicroSmartCardBusReader and others. The Device Manager will show some "!", "?", or "unknown device" on most start ups. I also get Found New Hardware messages and the Hardware Install Wizard appears. Then, other times it all gets recognized during a start up, and it all works fine, including the wireless adapter.

    Other symptoms are:

    1) Ethernet tray icon almost never appears (but port works and both LED lights work),

    2) Network connection doesn't appear in smart bar menu when network adapter doesn't "load"

    3) Powering on sometimes fails. I press the power button, lights come on, but drive doesn't spin and then all power goes off. it eventually works after several attempts. and sometimes no problem powering on at all. This problem began about the same time as the wireless networking adapter problem.

    4) I'd occasionally get a blue screen error when this all began, but this no longer happens.

    5) I get "virtual memory too low" warnings whenever I'm running a lot of stuff. Strange thing is it appears even when I'm not adding a new task.

    6) Windows task manager doesn't show anything suspicious in processes or unusual cpu usage.

    7) Wireless connection used to be called "wireless connection 2" before this began. Now it shows "wireless connection 4" since I used a network wizard.

    8) Final symptom is that when wireless driver loads on startup everything can work fine.

I've updated the NIC and Wireless drivers already. I've done virus and malware scans. Nothing shows up in any of that and anyone who has any new ideas please let me know! Thank you!
