Missing Bookmarks

Hi

I have updated Mozilla Firefox from version 3.6.6 to version 4.0 Beta 1. Following this upgrade my Bookmarks have disappeared. This has never happened before when I have upgraded to a newer version of Firefox.

It has happened on both my PCs: desktop (running Windows XP) and laptop (running Windows Vista).

Where can my bookmarks have gone? Can I retrieve them?

I Am changing my wife's computer, so I had to transfer her (OK, my Bookmarks) and her Address Book, I google them and that was pretty easy, with a little application mozbackup or something like that and some more info for the transfer of the bookmarks. I do not have the exact info on hand, I Am using her "new" computer and that info are in the old one, but it is pretty easy.

I know how to export and import bookmarks. I didn't export them before I updated Firefox because it has never been an issue before. But once I'd updated the Bookmarks were gone.

What I need to know is what might have happened to them and how I might retrieve them.

 

Too late for that now, I have done it!

I no longer have the older version and I haven't got a copy of bookmarks stored anywhere else. I will from now on. We live and learn.

Will my bookmarks be anywhere on my computers so that I can retrieve them?
