Cannot remove Combofix

My initial problem involved a yahoo redirect virus. I read and followed the steps in Major Geeks "Windows XP Cleaning Procedure". Combofix would begin scanning and then the machine would suddenly reboot. I need to remove Combofix. I have tried running combofix /u and "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u but just get "Windows cannot find...".

There is a boot drive root directory named "combofix" which contains a duplicate of the "my computer" folder.

Root repeal also failed to run. My problem ended up being a root kit virus which I was able to fix with tdsskiller.exe. Any ideas on how to remove Combofix would be much appreciated.

 

Placed Combofix.exe on desktop and then tried running:
combofix /u this just ran combofix
then tried running:
"%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u this also just ran combofix

How do I uninstall combofix? Am I using the wrong syntax?

 

Fixed it!

Turns out that my AV was turned off but firewall was still up. Turned off firewall and Used command: combofix /uninstall
