adware 1.05 update

Have a 98SE unit with Ad-ware SE Personal build 1.05 and needs some updating. Looked at Lavasoft.com for updates where from the posts they discontinued support and went to an Anniversary Edition (AE?). SE has no more updates?

Any way to get the last few updates? This unit hasn't been online for a while, I doubt the last few updates would be good enough for a scan.

Just put the 98SE unit into safe mode to scan for VX2 and quarentine. Successfully put to quarentine. *fingers crossing*

 

I have on a flash drive before discontinuing the definitions for build 1.05. I renamed the original def file and copied and pasted the one from the flash drive then restarted into safe mode to scan again. Ad-Aware says the def file isn't valid and needs to be updated again. No worries, i have the org def file. What else is needed to place the newer def file in other than the def file?

need a utility to unzip while in 98SE... it doen't have one, gone to look for a ut...

 

WinZip says it's good for all version of Windows...

missed the freeware of 7-zip...how neive... supports all versions of windows...

 

7-zip installed flawlessly...although the def file is still being rejected.
It is a build 1.05 SE Personal, I looked again.

 

just went to the file origianlly as the def file, renamed it as it was, renamed the newest update file, and restarted the program. Ad-Aware started fine.
