    Hello folks,

Hoping someone can help me here. Running two PCs in my house on FiOS and their wireless router.

Desktop PC running a hardline from the router and my Laptop using it's WiFi card. Recently it seems when wifey is using the desktop Pc, the performance of my wireless connection goes to shambles. Online gamings FPS rates drop down, and at times, I'm unable to open up web pages. This seems to have just happened in the last few weeks.

Wifey surfs the web and does use Facebook. At one time she did do Farmville, but has since stopped using their online games and now uses it just for posting comments and pics.

Could this be the root of my troubles? I've run Spyware and Adware programs based on the guideline from the Malware Removal section, is there anything else I should be looking at or is it simply that Facebook is going to drag down my WiFi stablility?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Well i must tell you, if you're using g/n Wireless is slower than cable and that's the first of your problems.

Second, facebook takes a lot of broadband depending of what is doing.

If is uploading pictures, videos or anything that affect the performance of your laptop broadband.

That doesn't means Facebook is doing the problem, the real problem is "what is doing in facebook".

    So we have:

    - Wi-Fi g/n is Slower than LAN cable (for games is better LAN cable)
    - Maybe the upload or download of files in Internet

I guess you didn't changed anything in the adaptor configuration or modem configuration and i will discard that.

I must ask, is a recent problem? It happened Before?

    Thank you for your response.

Seems to be a recent, and intermittent problem. I ran spyware scans to clean out the tracking cookies, no real major threats found on the Pc using Facebook.

I believe most of what is going on on Facebook is posting on other people's walls, I know from time to time she does upload files of the family.

I know a direct connection is always better, just seems the Wi-Fi had been working flawlessly until recently. I actually just purchased a Zyxel PLA-407 powerline networking kit to see if that will improve performance, although the wireless is nice....

thanks again and if you have any other advice or tips, my ears are open, take care!
