Okay You herd my USPS rant now I have another one

To start it off my cable box dies and then a person comes out and replaces it for free no problems.

Few days later My modem starts to have issues. Contact them and they said there will be a $30 charge and I'm like NO. So I ask around on the comcast forum and a comcast admin said it's free. So I contact comcast chat again and guess what? they say it's not free WTH? rolleyes

So I had to speak to a supveristor and they said Okay we will replace it for free since you are a valued customer.

Also trying to ask them about Docsis 3 and I get the run around. Yes it's available in your area NO it's not available in your area. The plans for it are listed on the website when I put my zip code on it. I first was October first 2009 that Docsis 3 would come to my area. Today I finally got somebody that said August 5th so we will see how true that is.

Oh and to top it off They decide to do an upgrade while I'm watching tv and do a horrible job of notifying me. Sending a message to your cable box which you can only read if you go the messages section and most of the messages are crappy overpriced ppv events. No phone call or postal mail notification. At least give me a call about it. You sent me postal mail and called about switching to Norton 360 (Which sucks I don't' use it.) So I had no cable for about an hour after having a box die this isn't great. And after the upgrade it didn't respond or do anything and guess what. I had to contact comcast AGAIN to fix the damn thing.

Oh don't even get me started on when I had to get my number changed a few months ago. It was HELL

I wish Verizon would come to my area faster. Would drop Comcast as soon as it became available in my area.

Should be illegal for one cable company to own the lines in area. Should be more competition and more then one cable company to be in a area.

I just spoke to Verzion on the live chat about it. No plans in my area for FIoS

And I was treated well and had all my questions answered. I'm thinking about getting people around to tell Verzion we want service in this area.

I wouldn't mind having the 25/25 plan. Would take it over the 50 Mbps plan.

Comcast quite regularly does system maintenance on their TV lines for about an hour starting at around 2:00 or 3:00am Eastern time. No, they don't warn you, but during that time the internet side is functioning absolutely properly so at least you have something to do. :)

I am NOT a cheerleader for Comcast...I've had an intermittent internet connection with them ever since they were AT&T @ Home, through ATTBi, and now Comcast for the last several years. Where I live, if I want something better than 24.6Kbps dialup, I will have Comcast, or I'd have gotten something else ages ago.

But the last couple of years they have really improved their support, and I actually got a tech a month or so ago who finally found the cause of my connection issues.

The run-around you got from them regarding Docsis3 sounds exactly like the run-around I get every time I try to find out if AT&T is available at my house. According to their website, and according to the people on the phone, it is. However, the reality involved with the fact that my above ground phone line is from the 1960's, I'm at the end, and there are load coils while the people across the street are on an underground phone line installed less than 15 years ago means it is not available at my house.

Every company has its idiots. Don't get me started on Verizon wireless! LOL

I had Comcast years ago also. After bad service after bad service, they convinced me that I was willing to pay more to have any other service than them. As soon as Verizon came in, I switched over.

Oh, one story (out of a few) that really pissed me off with Comcast was when they came to put in my HD Set top box. Here I am paying for their HD service and the extra $5 a month for the box and the guy tries to install it with Component cable instead of an HDMI. Luckily, I watch people when they install things and asked him what he was doing. He tried to tell me it was just as good. Ummmm...Okay. :rolleyes Anyway, after 5 minutes he realized there was no way he was going to be installing that and went out to his truck and got the HDMI.

    So I feel for you.

and yes, I have Fios. LOL

Yesterday I had a long reply typed out about my Comcast usage but hit the back key and lost it then lost interest of typing it again. So not to type it all again, yes Comcast does suck in some ways. I have a choice of Comcast or dial up, well could get DSL from the phone company but that's worse than dealing with Comcast. I am happy with my internet and speed. It was the phone and customer service I can do without. One phone call in or out, then have to reset my modem to get a dial tone again. Many modems where tired, new coax run, even a new drop to the house, about a dozen tech visits. The last tech who I showed him the problem 3 times in a row as he switched three different modems said, "Well, I guess you just can't have our VOIP." So dropped to just TV and internet and use my cell which worked out being cheaper.

Verison FIOS is a few months from being finalized in my area. Comcast who?

    Guess what?

They canceled my service appointment as they thought my issue was resolved.

    Thanks Comcast!

and they replaced my box form HDMI to Component (Blue Green Yellow) video. Guy said "We don't have any HDMI boxes in stock" So I get a downgraded DVR since the last one I had died.

    Even better

They schedule an appointment without telling me. I guess it's good and bad. My problem gets fixed sooner but I didn't ask them to do it.

I told few people back in the day and even think I posted it in a thread about how comcast was one of the things I hate and want to rant about. Only reason I didn't was figured maybe someone worked for them on these boards. Anyways comcast was smart and bought all that was here for internet and cable. And so its either nothing or them. If people had something else they would go to it even all my family. Anyways my family suppose to have HD added and dish network. Now the thing is every single time it rains"very little" or more you know its going to mess up. Heck theres storms far away coming in and yet still get the sorry were having issues please do not contact us .. we are working on it. Now this is so annoying for it to go out every 2 days. I mean specially when your watching your shows or like I tell the people at comcast"what are you guys going to do like superbowl" big event on TV millions watch and comcast goes out on them? Boy they get pissed. Anyways another thing is we lose signal all the time and it goes through the channels and trys to find them pretty much daily and many times a day. Now we are in the middle of a town and why would you have issuse? We paid there fee 75 bucks or so per half an hour for techs to come. Yet each time they said they fixed it and yrs now and no fix. finally after spending few thousands on tech and stupid people at there company we have to "deal with it" but If I could Id spit in there face due to such poor company and support. To add we also have issues where neighbors or people around us change our channel and what they order gets on our bills. So after years of monthly calling comcast they still dont understand how to work/fix/anything. We just got a bill for few religion channels and something I never heard of. I argued and they said they cut it down 5 bucks from 75 bucks (now remember I never order and go through this all the time) so why keep charging take it off! But yes comast came in people liked it and said better then other we had.. now most of the town hates it as well.

I've had comcast for a while now, and have had nothing but good things to say about it. I always have to call and haggle for prices, etc, but other than that it's been fine. I've heard Verizon was having money problems and wouldn't be expanding much more than where they are already available, so thats out of the question here. There's also Wide Open West available, and compared to comcast, it's horrible.

First we had PacBell and dialup, then dsl and 1.5 speed, better then dialup. That was 20 years ago, and I live in an 2 story apartment. The complex has sold three different times, in the last 15 years. I found out that the building was built March 1950. That’s when the phone lines were put in. When it rain’s or when it’s hot, lots of problems just with the phone, when we had problems with the dsl, repairman show me the newer phone box next to the apartment. When kids played on it, would disrupt my internet.

I don’t remember who had the cable system in town, when I first move here 1976. There have been four or five owners. Comcast did some updates five years ago throughout the whole town. They put in fiber optics throughout our town, it comes right to the cable box, but it’s cable from there on, to my bedroom. I’ve been paying for 6mg’s download, and 1.5 up. Using any of the speed testing programs, I get 20 down and 3to 5 up.

I have the three way deal, phone, TV, and internet, for $140 a month. Sure I can complain, but they are the only game in town….wobbles

Okay Comcast is the worst ISP in the world

Tech come out repalced my modem and said the cable connection is fine and guess what? My connection still drops out with large downloads.

Talking to the agent and they said "It's better to download the file in smaller chunks" Okay rolleyes

Now after telling them and scheduling another tech to come out my downloads are capped at 1 MB/sec. They start off at 3 MB/sec with there power boast crap and then go down to 2 MB/sec. I should get 2 MB/sec and then they thorrle down to 1 MB/sec sometimes as low as 950 KB/sec

Reset router modem everything guess what? NO help whatever.

I"m so tempted to go back to DSL for a stable connection.

The tech coming out tomorrow better fix my issues.
