Can't uninstall IE7....pls advise.

Dell Demension E510~Windows XP Pro ~Service pk 3~fully updated.
When I go to Add/Remove Programes, the listing for IE7 has no option to remove!!??!! I went to Add/Remove Windows Components and was equally unsuccessful.

Sometimes a link says it best. IMHO would upgrade to IE 8 and run an alternative like Firefox as well.

 

I agree with Bugballou Post. Upgrade IE to version 8 or you can now download the latest one but its still in testing which IE 9. you can download other browsers to go with IE. My recommended browsers are :-

Firefox
Opera 10.60
Google Chrome
Apple Safari

Any of them are really good.

I also agree with sexy andy. I personally think Firefox is the best all-around browser out there, followed closely by Google Chrome. However, if you are like me in that you MUST have Internet Explorer to properly view certain proprietary sites, I'd upgrade to IE8 and use it for those sites ONLY. I'm a Firefox guy, with IE8 as a backup ONLY when viewing those proprietary sites.

As an aside, you may also wish to try a browser that shares the IE web engine...such as Avant Browser, MaxThon, or Lunascape. I haven't tried it yet, but Lunascape looks interesting as "the world's first triple engine browser". Lunascape, in theory, will mimic Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari by utilizing the web engine from each. Could be a 3-in-1 browser find that eliminates the need for multiple browsers?!
