So, I'm about to head out the door for lunch in about 10 minutes and the doorbell rings about 5 minutes ago. There's a man standing there with a dozen roses.

I looked and said oh wow, what are those for? The delivery guy laughs and says I don't know, but I have more. He goes back to the car and comes back with two more things of flowers (yellow roses...my favorite, and a vase of mixed summer flowers).

At this point, I say to the guy 'no one died! I wonder what these are for' lol...he's kind of looking at me funny.

All the cards on each of the flowers say 'I love you'. :) They were from my husband (in case anyone was wondering LOL).

Of course I call him and ask him what he did that he was sending me all those flowers.:-D He said nothing, he just couldn't decide which ones to get me. :heart

I thought after all the stories of bad pick up lines in Ned's Birthday thread, this would be a nice story of how wonderful the unexpected can be.:)

My, how nice for you, Laura!:) ~ Always thought the best presents are the 'no special occasion, but you are special', ones.
I have Roses out in the front yard, my favorite is the yellow one as well.

Worked for me, didn't it? LOL

    That's what he said. ;)

Thinking he's a keeper for sure.:)

Yep. I would agree. That's why I somewhat have a problem with the manufactured holidays such as Valentines Day. Someone telling you you should be romantic. Silly really. This was much better.

    Nah joking aside that's awesome:)

LOL It's true! Women do think alike! That's the exact same thing my wife asked me when I sent her flowers unexpectedly (she had a really bad week once with work and health issues, so I sent some flowers to her . . . though not as many as Laura got!).

Oh, the suspicious mind of woman . . . :-D

You tell him to cut that out. He's setting a bad example for the rest of us. ;)

I was wondering when someone would pick up on that line. roflmao I will not tell a lie, it is true. But only because when you all do these things they are SO unexpected. lol He told me he said to the flower people that I would say that. He seems to know me after 24 years. LOL

bwahahaha...get with the program Triaxx, unexpected flowers is the new sitting on the sofa with a beer :-D

Sounds like a great guy you got there Laura "he's a keeper"

Unexpected gestures like that show his feelings for you.

When my husband sent me flowers at work, my female co-workers all asked me the same thing -- "what did he do?"

Me being me, I smiled innocently and replied, "I didn't know he had to do something bad before he could send me flowers, I thought all it took was wanting to do something nice for me. Did they change the romance rules lately?" :p

And then I of course placed the vase with dark red roses strategically on the most prominent spot on my desk so they would all be able to see them clearly. LOL

    I think he might. :-D

jk...he's awesome and always thoughtful. The flowers aren't an every day (or month or 6 month LOL) thing, but everything else is pretty great that he does too.

I think you have to get them young? :-D

Aw that's so sweet! If I ever get flowers for anything I can rest assured that whatever it was, it was BAD. But it's so nice to see that people still get flowers because they are loved. :)

What? Oh, no spontaneous is fine. I'm talking about that 'I couldn't decide so I bought them all' malarkey. You can go bankrupt pulling that kind of stunt.

Besides, Flowers are for apologies. Chocolate says I love you.

Corvettes say I love you. Chocolates say I have no imagination :p

I figure getting anything after 24 years is probably something to be appreciated. :-D

A corvette is more of an old man car, but hell, I'd even take that. heh
