Funny video. One night long, long ago (for some reason) I was demonstrating to my then wife my ability to crush a coke can against my forehead. What I didn't know was my oldest son, who then was just barely walking, was awake and peeking out of his room.

He obviously saw me, for it was just a few mins after my riveting performance he appeared in the hallway with an empty can of his own. He tapped it on his forehead and just laughed and laughed . . . did it over and over again. Funniest thing I've ever seen. :-D

To this day, no matter my state of mind, the memory of him standing there in his blue-footie pajamas tapping that can on his head makes me smile.

As a footnote, I'm glad that's the worst of my stupid human tricks he saw!

 

My son does things like that, and his belly laugh is the funniest thing in the whole world. I wish these days lasted longer than they do. I may cry for a long time when they pass

Sometimes when trying to sleep, I want to peer into the past and yell a warning to the me that existed 20 years ago about how fast the time went, and how quickly the kids grew up, and that I better appreciate it more while it lasts . . . worry less about work and more about just being dad. I was so busy back then.

But "Too late" is the only reply my imagination could ever receive . . . a heartless echo of missed opportunity, barely heard over the inexorable passage of time . . . :cry

However - we do get second chances in life . . . because in addition to being the dad, I'm finding it's pretty darn cool to be the papaw, too! :major

 

I can't wait to be a grandma.. well.. yes I can, she's only 10! But.. 10+ years from now (hopefully) because I am SO getting her back. I'm going to sugar those kids up until they're bouncing off walls and send them home.
