So I found new hobbies..

My wife was getting bent on how long I spent on the computer. Other than my job as C# developer sucking up my comp time, I decided on some.. shall we say, more cathartic hobbies.

So in case some of you old timers here (From way back when I joined in 2000) are wondering what I've been up to..

I picked it up for a song and dance too. Trust me, I didn't pay anywhere NEAR the suggested price... it's a beautiful knife too Definitely something I can pass down, which is what I was looking for.

Arf has some new hardware... :-D Oh yeah, found a great place for magazines. I ordered a 25 round and a 5 round magazine from them. Cheap price. If they work well, will post a link. Hard to find cheap 6.8SPC mags...

I actually bought the Magpul MIAD grip which I like. Works just fine for my preferred, resting, wrist angle and hand grip girth (shut up wenchie.. you too CP... might as well say shut up to all of you pervs )

Yes, the gun on the right is a Springfield SOCOM II M1A with the standard VLTOR rail.

How cheap is cheap on the magazines? I can usually get a 10 round mag for about 12 bucks. NY only allows 10 rounders unless pre-ban.

I was looking a saving up for an ACR, but it's damn expensive.

@ Bazza's 'pocket' knife: My!...that's a big one.
You'd have to walk around in a full trench coat so that your pockets are big enough to hold it. Would hate to try and find the right implement amongst that lot. 'Polly needs a crane to hold the knife steady, just so you can peel an apple.LOL

 

ONly 10 round mags! How sad. About the same price at this site. For some reason most places charge $30 for a 25 round or 10 or 5 round mag for the 6.85SPC. Ordered me a 5 round mag for hunting and a 25 round to test. Will stock up if they work well. Got a stack of 5.56 mags, they are cheap. :-D

It's a Bushmaster A3 that I modded the crap out of.

 

Dang 6.8 ammo runs around $1 per round. So I keep the 5.56 upper handy for shooting. You should visit a more gun friendly state sometime. Nothing like firing 30 rounds downrange. :-D

 

Pre-ban mags let me do that.

 

I forgot about the pre-ban stuff. Confusing to me. Bet the pre ban stuff is pricey. They look at you funny around here if you don't have a gun. :-D

Gun laws can be crazy. I think in NY you can't have an adjustable stock. How the heck does an adjustable stock make the gun more dangerous? Strange laws. :cool
