How can I show the Administrator account to log into on Vista Home Premium?

Or, how can I log into the Administrator account rather than the other accounts given as a list to choose from?

    * First you'll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing "Run as administrator"
    * Now type the following command:
    net user administrator /active:yes

Well... here is what I have now...

I have a guest account, from which I tried the net user/admin rights from command prompt... It asked for an administrator password but the password area was not there, didn't have a place to type in the password.

I know from the previous versions of password cracker/programs the guest account and administrator account do NOT have passwords. ophcrack for vista showed both accounts exsisting but without passwords. If i can reach the account I am free to work with the computer...
The other two accounts one has admin rights while the other doesn't specify the user account type. I have failed with numerous software to either clear or crack the passwords. All are freeware software to have tried.

You have to be in an Administrator account in order to activate the built in Administrator account. Any account that has admin privileges, then go to start / accessories / right click the command prompt and choose Run as Administrator. Then input the script.

Ok, as mentioned from below... I am not able to access the one account having administrator rights. This one account has a password which is unknown, has not been cleared or successfully changed.

Is a possible reason for being unsuccessful due to the OS being 64-bit rather than 32-bit? I assumed for performance and better handling is key reasons for the 64-bit, are there more benefits?

I got an ISO of a password reset program.

If you have ever used that account, and not changed the password, then there should be no password on it. If you follow TimW's instructions, then you should be able to login to the Administrator account without a password.

Are you offering the ISO? What password program?

The only account accessible is the guest account, all others are password secure except for the Administrator account as shown by one of the software tried previous. If I can gain access to an account with admin rights then I can follow the direction but one of the criteria is an account with admin rights, I don't have this currently.

No, the instructions were to start cmd using 'Run as Administrator'; you can do that from any account.

this is true, but the administrator password will be needed

But if the Administrator account has never been used, there is no password. Or have you tried it, and it requested a password?

I have tried from the guest account, went to the cmd.exe file in the system32 folder without the system working, it was asking for the password. but as already stated the admin account does not have a password so then i should have been able to get in. i will return and look the whole process over again noting some key steps...

No password = blank password; just hit the Enter key when it asks for a password.
