Your download must have failed. I just downloaded and ran it because I was worried that it was broken. Try it again :) 13.50 MB.

Thanks for the free d/l, much appreciated! One thing that bugs me, not sure if I should even bring it up here, your currency calculator is seemingly out of whack. $65 CDN when your $ is 1.05 ours. Just an observation.:)

BTW, great download speeds, maxed my line in @ 900KBps!:major

Sounds liek a browser issue. Firefox new ad blocking is breaking a lot of things. Opera is as well. Using one of those I assume?

    Hi All

No issues here with Windows 7 x64 and IE8 and Opera 10.60 and Mozilla Minefield, all installed fine from the link, do check your security apps and maybe disable it to try, for reference I use Avast AV Free, Spywareblaster and Windows 7 Firewall and a NAT/SPI router.

    Cheers Tim, good offer BTW.

Disable your firewall and it downloads fine. Figures that it was the last thing I checked :)

For reference what Firewall you using?
Just wondering what they are using as a setting to block this sort of download as I will test at later date, cheers :)

    Downloading just fine here! :)

Firefx, AdBlock Plus and NoScript both set to allow all of MajorGeeks, Avira AntiVir, Windows Firewall.

I lost my edit button. :(

Just a quick question. Okay, two.

First: Unless I misunderstand it, this handy shampoo software will replace all my optimizing software... Defraggler, CCleaner and all the others. Right? Wrong?

Second, it says it's by GmBH. That looks extremely familiar and I feel like I really should know what they do. What else have they released?

It can and worked great for me, up to you if you like it but yes, it can clean drive, optimize, defragment and more. This company has a ton of programs, I actually use their Ashampoo Burning Studio since Nero bloated a few years back. They are a good company and they do giveaways to market in the hopes you buy something else from them.

I offers to install their toolbar, it's pretty obvious and a one-click opt out on install. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I used their CD burning software for a while, and liked it. And I of course rejected the toolbar. Running it now... looks similar to Glary or Windows Advanced Care in how it works.

And when my antivirus updated the notification window said "Avira GmBH". LOL no wonder it looked familiar!

I'm going to give this shampoo thing a fair chcne and see how I like it. Now to uninstall the other ones! :)

    Show-off. :p

    That makes sense though. :)

Downloaded and installed the software. Everything went without a hitch.

PC Tools Plus FW, Firefox, Avast 5 etc. No changes made to any existing software prior and after installing WinOptimizer Free. :)

It's got a lot of features and still have to try out some. It made a backup of quite some registry keys. Will keep that around for a while as I don't know if its registry cleaner is too invasive. So far so good. :) Won't uninstall CCleaner yet as I want to compare its cleaner against this new software.

Good stuff, looks as if the download is ok and may have just been some over enthusiastic security apps blocking it for some.

Cheers folks for the input and testing.

installed fine for me. Windows 7 64-bit, PC tools firewall plus, microsoft security essentials, firefox.

I also use Ashampoo buring studio 6 Free. works great

I see there's a version 7, i will tinker with version 6 and maybe upgrade if I like it. I assume 7 isn't free, but it says that the current version will not be affected.

I used an earlier trial version of this (more than a year ago) and it screwed some parts of my system.

My trust in MGs is total so i will run it and see how it does.

A question on the Optimizer: Since I liked it, I happily uninstalled all my other maintenance apps, including CCleaner, and now I can't find an uninstall module in Ashampoo anywhere. Am I just missing it, or is it not an option? I miss Ccleaners uninstall tool.

Here here Bill mine the same and all they done after uninstallation and after unsubscription they still tortured me constantly with emails !

No clue why you don't find the uninstall module of Ashampoo? It was shown in my Add/Remove Programs and deleted this software with Revo Uninstaller late last night. It removed way too much NOT junk and that's why I had to go into safe mode and do a restore. Or perhaps I was at fault? Even after that my FF "No Script" was missing and some of my other addons didn't work properly anymore. Glad I didn't remove my beloved CCleaner with its CCEnhancer since I trust that one with my machine. Unless you opted out of an uninstaller? :confused So many clicks to get it up and running.

No, have not received any emails from them other than the 2 emails to set the Ashampoo up.

That's what it did yesterday to my machine or perhaps it was me but I don't think so. Anyway, it took so much stuff out that I was using that I had to get into safe mode and use restore to get back to (almost) normal. Glad to be back at normal. :)
