    Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

    Guess I'm showing my age, but: when I was a kid, we didn't even have the word 'anime' - if we would have, we'd athought it was 'animal' spelt wrong...

    My favorites were RR/Wile Coyote, a lot of Jonny Quest, some Bugs, some Daffy, some Yosemite Sam:

    Hell, I even remember Steamboat Willy...:-o

    Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, the Bumbi Bears... they were all dubbed to Swedish of course, since kids aren't expected to be able to read subtitles. And they rocked. :major

    No doubt about that! What kind of scientist was Dr. Quest? . . . he always had such neat equipment! Gotta love a cartoon where scientists are shooting crocodiles with machine guns! Not to mention having bazooka's, lazer beams, spaceships, submarines, the list goes on and on. I want that job!

    Didn't Race always carry a 1911?

    That's the original Johnny Quest cartoons . . . I didn't much care for the newer ones.

    Also Dungeons and Dragons, anyone else watch that?Ghostbusters was also pretty good.I guess I did watch cartoons then:-D

    While I don't have much to say I'll mention what I disliked, anything with wiley cayote or roadrunner, smurfs, tazmania, silvester and tweetie, popeye, care bears,Flintstones 'although I did sit through it sometimes'

    And they wonder why our generation is messed up;

    In Sweden it was called "Ankliv". I loved that show! :)

    They used to show all these for about an Saturday and Sunday morning (proof that people setting the TV schedule had kids) for more than one hour in a show called "Disney Dags", which literally means "Disney Time". This was the intro:

    @ Fred: great stuff - I've got both the VHS and the 25th Anniv. DVD versions - I almost posted a couple of Taarna clips for Mimsy, but I was afraid she'd start complainin' about her hair being too long, or some such...

  22. Mimsy

    Mimsy Superior Imperial Queen of the MG Games Forum

    Of course not, silly. Taarna's name is Taarna. As long as she isn't renamed Mimsy, why should I complain? :p

    Come on Caliban, Mimsy does not complain. She exacts justice with her Katana. :-D

    Reminds me of the American Captain Fathom.

    @ Caliban:- Fantasia was, and still is, an awesome production, (the 1940 version is way better, i.m.h.o.). Maybe my favourite music/animation ever.
