    That's right. You all have a favorite food(s) that you just start slobbering over, so what are they?

    For me, nothing tasted so good the other night than a Whataburger with extra mustard and jalapenos.

    Five Guys burgers and fries. With a beer.

    And chicken breast, wrapped in smoked bacon, sprinkled with basil and thyme, with extra virgin olive oil drizzled over it. Bake about two thirds of the way in the oven, cover in a mild cheese, and bake the rest of the way. Heaven. :cloud9

    Steak!I'm cooking one now,a Serloin just for change I usually get ribeye I cut all the fat off and fry it down in my griddle for 35 mins which only gets used for steak,I never wash it it just gets wiped out,then I heat up the griddle until the pan is smoking hot and the smoke alarm has gone off then throw it on for 5-6mins,medium.

    I like a couple of poached eggs and peas usually.

    Serloin wasn't that great I won't be getting it again,a bit tough and too many chewy bits.

    Orange Grilled Chicken – Marinate Overnight

    * ½ cup orange juice concentrate
    * ¼ cup limejuice
    * 2 tsp crushed garlic
    * 1 tsp dried mint, crushed
    * 1 tsp oregano, crushed
    * 1 tsp ground ginger
    * ¼ tsp salt & pepper
    * 4 boneless chicken breasts

    zip-lock bag, bowl, brush & saucepan

    Mix together all ingredients and marinate overnight in a ziplock bag or sealed container. Remove chicken from marinade and set aside. Add marinade to saucepan and boil until reduced by half, stirring constantly. Grill chicken over medium high heat for 15 to 20 minutes until no longer pink in the center (170ºf). Baste frequently with sauce after the first 5 minutes.

    To keep chicken from drying out, sear both sides (about 3-5 minutes) over direct heat and finish cooking away from direct flame.

    The Guy put a big roast in a marinade this morning and put it in the fridge. When I got home I roasted it in the oven (the meat, not the fridge!), then boiled potatoes and mashed them, and finished it off with some home-made country gravy. Yummmm...! :yum

  22. Fred_G

    Hmm, roasted fridge. Might be good, depending on what is in the fridge. :-D

    Here's something I discovered a few weeks ago by accident,I made a chicken burger and had a Chicago town micro pizza, I love these little things only as big as a CD with pepperoni and a rich tomato sauce but I digress,as I was finishing up the pizza I noticed some lettuce left on my plate from the chicken burger so I put it on the pizza--- It was just amazing!:eek:-D

    So now after I've nuked a micro pizza I put a big pile of lettuce on top lol:-D Try it and then say I'm wrong! I think the key is the pizza has to have a rich tomato sauce,I haven't tried it on other pizza types yet but I'm gonna.

    Home made burgers. :)

    Dumped a bunch of ground beef in a bowl, added freshly ground pepper, ketchup, soy sauce, a couple of eggs, salt... oh, and cholula hot sauce. Shaped the red mess into burger patties and grilled them, then stuck them between buns with barbecue sauce, relish, and cheese. :yum

    Can't wait for some cold weather - the first frost, it's tradition here for me to fix up my famous Lumberjack Stew: different sausages, potatoes, carrots, onions, celery and mushroom soups, various seasonings...served hot on biscuits or rice, it'll warm your bones...

    Not much beats a freshly cooked lobster served simply with brown bread and butter, pepper and lemon, shared with the right person, of course.

    Then there's feeding each other with little morsels whilst maintaining eye-contact in a busy but dimly-lit restaurant in some foreign country (safer but less exciting if Sharia law is not in place there).

    Chilled caviar lapped from the warmer regions of your partner's body is pretty good too, should be done in the privacy of a locked room though.

    And for breakfast, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and bubbly with freshly squeezed orange juice, please.
