    A bit of humour. :-D

One third of drivers can't recognize this idiot light [Poll]

PS: This is a pedaltothemetal poll. Not an MG poll.

IMHO. Aussies would probably answer: Fuel light warning. ;)
Not one of the choices above, though. :major

As mostly USA MG Members, what would your choice be, if you were voting in the Poll?

Jeez man, how many idiot lights does it take to drive a car these days?:confused :p What, one tire sensor goes bad and one wears the tire down to the steel belt and blows it up before realizing that something is wrong!?? BAH!!! So many people should not be allowed to drive!:mad Give me a brake!rolleyes;)

Here in OZ, I don't know of any cars on the market that advertise that they have tyre (Aussie spelling) pressure warning sensors fitted.

Tyre pressure sensors don't rate much over here. :confused

Then again I am driving a 25 year old car (the Lexus of its' day). :)

As I was walking down the street one day an old lady came up to me almost on the verge of tears she said "Can you turn these off,I've touched something and I don't know how to turn them off!:cry" She'd hit her hazard warning light the big red switch with two arrows on just above the gear stick,I turned them off and she was elated:-D

I had no idea what that warning light was I've never seen a car that monitors the tyre pressure:confused How does it do that?Is there sensor connected to the inside of the tyre, the distance of the chassis from the ground?Does the ECU pick up on the difference in performance?

    Answers on a postcard:)

    It's a tire pressure warning.

I might be more ignorant about cars than any of my customers are about computers, but I do know what all the warning lights on my dashboard mean. :)

    Yep - tire pressure.

While kind of off the subject, what really gets under my skin are the vehicles that have, in addition to gauges, an idiot light for the same function. Really? If a person is so inattentive they fail to see a problem developing on a guage right in front of them, and they also need a light and maybe a buzzer to say "hey, doofus, look at the stupid guage!" . . . should they even be driving?

    I'm done . . . just something that bugs me. :-D

I have a Toyota and it has this, also my Lexus that i had before had it.

The one i really like now is the seat belt warning, if you or a passenger forgets the seat belt an idiot light blinks and a sound signal, if you try to ignore it the sound gets louder and beeps faster until you have to fasten the belt.

New fangled tire pressure sensors. :mad LoL, I can take the tires off my truck and it won't complain. If just assumes I have a reason for trying to drive with no tires. :-D

Thanks I knew I could get some sucker to Google it for me:-D Kinda makes me wonder who comes up with the warning symbol system? I don't know what's wrong a picture of a tyre that lights up,the oil lights got a dipstick that lights up.

I bet the guy who came up with that warning light is a real A-hole:-D

"Muhahaha Flashing exclamation mark "!" "!" "!" ,work that out you rich tyre pressure sensor car owning snobs."

It gets lonely Googling stuff:cry Sometimes its nice to pretend Google doesn't exist and have one of those old fashioned conversations.:cool Not often though...

Wikipedia is also awesome but the more time you spend there the less people want to talk to you.Just the other day my brother said to me "Where do you read all this crap?" My own flesh and blood!:-o:-D

The one I have which is a flashing ! mark in a triangle is a traction control warning that lack of grip is under tires and the control unit is adjusting accelleration to compensate. :p

Yes, wouldnt be going too quick to start with, then depending what end decided to loose grip dont try and fight it, drive with it and try and correct when grip may come back. Or just hang on and hope for the best.

Or press the Windows button on my stearing wheel :) (suprisingly it has one, part of car is Windows Mobile OS) and choose the music track Highway to Hell.
