Changing CPU to a new one?

    Hello all, i got a question, is it possible to replace the old CPU to a new one?
    For now i have DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2 +3600 ,2000MHz and want to buy something like AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 260(3.2Ghz/2MB/65W) Socket AM3
    is it possible to replace it ? Added everest motherboard info.

    Besides, you could overclock that +3600 to near +6400 speeds if that is your bottleneck. I would save my money for an AM3 board with a quad at the least. From what I hear, it'll be the same socket for the X8 coming out so you'll be really future proofed. I never upgrade a CPU unless it's a big jump like a single to a dual etc.

    In this case the motherboard does support the processor you have specified as long as you have BIOS version F13B or higher.
