Can't clear IE History?

I went to Tools > Internet Options > Browser History to clear my web history but it didn't work. I tried checking all the boxes in there and even ran CCleaner but when I type in the address bar the hisory is still there. Is there another way to clear history?

Windows 7 - IE 8

Make sure you unselected "Preserve favorites website data".

I attached an image for you.

Hi

Just as I came across this today on a PC in work, in IE8 click Tools > Internet Options > and under Browsing History ~ DELETE then untick the very top box *Preserve favorites website data" this time and see if that removes them. (Edit notice itmortiz on same vain)

Also that in the address bar is Autocomplete, disable this via Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > and under the Autocomplete heading click Settings then untick all and then click Delete Autocomplete History.

Is this 64bit Windows 7 and 64bit IE8 you are using or 32bit?

OK, tried it, but still have real old history. This is 64-bit Windows, just know IE is 8, doesn't say if it is 64-bit.

Also, is there a way to get the MENU Bar back on top, like above the other 2 toolbars I have?
