Well, good luck Dyamond. Hey, you may get really lucky and find out that he is a manager of a major shoe store!!:-D Better yet, he may even be the owner!! I can see it all now....after a nice, romantic dinner, he invites you back to his place, with soft music playing, a glass of wine in your hand, and with the lights dimmed, he strolls out of the bedroom with an armful of this year's latest shoe styles and asks for your opinion!!

It was pretty short but still long enough to get some bruises (not literal ones).

Absolutely not. I spent six miserable years refusing to go on dates because they weren't worth the effort and hassle, and then one day I bumped into this random stranger that was smart, funny, and very attractive, that I got curious about... I usually refer to him as "The Guy" when I talk about him on here.

The important thing is not to lower your standards. Don't settle for anything less than the best possible thing you can get... because you deserve the best possible thing you can get.

If you have to choose, it is a lot better to go through life flying solo, than to go through life attached to someone lesser than what you deserve and need. Never just settle for someone just because "it could be worse". Never.

 

Well, I was going to say I hope all went well, but I guess not so well. On the slight upside - better to know it aint gonna work early on than waste weeks/months, (years?) on something that isn't going to work out the way you want.
You'll find the right guy sooner or later, I'm sure

Whoever he is, he is obviously vastly inferior to you! Obviously the man is at best a doofuss for letting you slip through his fingers. I have no doubt you will soon run across the right person - and it will probably happen when you aren't even looking.

And the Mimsy is dead on - never settle for anything or anyone. You deserve the best. No doofusses allowed!

One more thing Dyamond. I feel that I need to apologize for my previous post in this thread. It was quite insensitive and I'm sorry. Granted, I posted BEFORE this date occured, but I should have enough sense to wait until AFTERWARDS before attempting that kind of 'humor'(?) Again, I do apologize if I made you feel even worse. That was not my intention.

The reason I am taking this so hard is because I’ve liked this guy for a year and a half and I finally thought that something was going to happen.. I was wrong but thanks for all of your kind words
