    WHAT the hell is that?

I have re-installed the GPU client, does look a newer version than what I was runnning, but now I get after 10mins or less a icon in the tray of "sleeping" (lazy *** F@H)

CPU Client is ok and running.

See log file to see if you experts see an issue?

Can you back up farther in the log and see if all the errors apply to the same WU - Project: 10632 (Run 88, Clone 51, Gen 8) (It says you had 8 improper terminations of the core.)
You have 3 repeats of the same on your log, so it may be a bad WU.

When you reinstalled, did you delete everything or just the core?

    Hey lbmest

cheers for the info, yes as far as I know I uninstalled the app then the folder in program files, then reinstalled, just re-installed again the latest client and for some reason its going through a test protein A in the display

Full log is attached now. Just again uninstalled and reinstalled and its stating core engaged and now working.

I'd keep an eye on it Dave.
It may have been a corruption issue or a bad WU or a combination of both and the reinstalls cleared out the problem.
If it happens again, we'll see what the log says.

    Cheers

    Nope John

Back now with sleeping! left it for a few hours as watching a F1 GP qualifying session, and looking now its back to sleeping after re-installing the client.

Dont know if to let the test protein A thing run its course or not as its got 6hrs left but you have to leave the display window open or it restarts from 0 again.... going to put me off folding soon as this is a PITA issue that I never created.

CPU folding is working fine, not a great PPD for me as GPU but at least its working.

Dont know if this log helps anyone with F@H experience or not.

Well think I may have figured this out ended up uninstalling the GPU client again and deleting the F@H folder in appdata\roaming then installing again but this time the GPU2 client and entering back the user data and passkey and now its actually folding a WU over just the test protein A thing.

That's strange as the p10632 is a Fermi(series 4XX GPU's) WU and should not be folding on an 8800GTS. Does it say GROGPU2(which is your card) or OPENMMGPU(which is Fermis) as core in processes?

In the future, if you come up with errors, then delete the work folder, queue.dat and the unitinfo.txt files and restart client. Your 8800 should be runnimkg the FAHCORE_14.exe and not 15.exe, I believe someone may have screwed up at Stanford. Check their forums as I am going to, you can't be alone in this.

That said, your client should be the GPU2 6.23 and not the GPU3 6.32.

Cheers Augie on this, yes seems a screw up at Standford on this as the client now is working ok.

It now says GROGPU2 in processes, which as you say I believe is correct.

Well, I checked Stanford's forums and couldn't find anything related. Perhaps an alpha or just corrupt WU got mistakenly posted, ya know crap happens eh?:-D That's life in the beta fast lane!;)

I disagree with the statement this WU is a Fermi WU only as my 8800 series cards run fine [fahmon post and another snap shot] with the installed beta GPU3 client version 6.30r1 console client aka non sys tray client, but you can opt not to upgrade and continue to run the older client GPU2 if you so desire (until that series of WU's are gone),then you will have to upgrade to either the beta GPU3 client or the new and revised soon to be v.7 which is spoken of on the Folding@home forum.

Hmm noprob, I must say well done! I' and many others have jumped through hoops to get something better going. Like running a Linux clientin VM to get %20 extra points when I knew squat about *nix!:-D I haven't seen most of this, just VJ's May 24th statement:

Now I have to go and study your links!:cry:wave

EDIT: I have a pair of 9800GT's under W7 ATM.
