Please help: PC/Firefox running slow

    This is my first time using a forum so please bear with me. My PC and Firefox seem to be running slow, not sure what else. My hijackthis.log is below: Please help me.

    There are many reasons why your PC and browser could be running slow.

    Please tell us what the specs are on your computer (Operating System, amount of RAM, etc). Lack of RAM can be a problem.

    What programs are starting up when you boot up your computer? This can also be a huge problem if you have a number of unnecessary apps starting that aren't needed.

    Laura,

    Hijackthis lead me directly to your website. I am not sure what is making my PC run slow. I thought that Hijackthis would be a place to start. Do you suggest I follow the links you provided and then go from there?

    Please start with the second link that LauraR posted (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650) then if that does not resolve the problem and you seriously suspect malware, then go to the first link (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407)

    As collinsl says, start with the second (both are links to threads here at Major Geeks).

    You can also give us some information on your computer as I said...Operating System and RAM.

    Did the problem just start? Is it always slow? What programs are starting up when your computer does?
