That's the one. It's a prank drink, and great for serving to the big "macho" guy that no one can stand and you want to shut up in a humiliating way. LOL

The shot will turn solid? What does that mean, does it curdle or set or curdle and set,how long does it take, how solid does it set?

    I'm totally intrigued.

The acid in the citrus shot makes the cream in the Baileys curdle. Picture luke-warm and very sweet cottage cheese with a hint of lime.

Gawd, that sounds horrible. I've never heard of that. Kinda funny though for the right person.

I'm having cement mixer flashbacks! LOL They're actually not too bad tasting if you can drink them fast enough. Kinda like an Irish car bomb (obviously not flavour-wise, but those'll curdle if you don't slam them also). We never swished, though, just poured both in and gulped. Where I come from, it's a cardinal sin to waste good alcohol. :-D

OK, Now I'm wondering... They're easy to get rid of if they turn solid in your mouth.. I guess you wouldn't drink these while you were dancing? Solid in your stomach, and you better hope it took the right shape... LOL

  7. Sgt. Tibbs

    Sgt. Tibbs Ultra Geek

LOL They don't really get solid, more like cottage cheese as Mimsy said. :-D

I'm not sure if this even has a name and is probably just a Quebec thing because of the spruce beer. The non-alcoholic type is best. Extremely tasty, not too sweet either, like drinking a Christmas tree with powwa! The extreme fizz makes the booze get absorbed very quickly. Very good if one has a Vitamin C deficiency too.:-D

Very easy, DeKuyper's gin or vodka with the spruce beer. Enjoy.

LOL, oldie but good one. Shot of Bombay Sapphire, and a splash of dry Vermouth. Shaken, not stirred. Traditional Martini. :-D

Bombay Sapphire is MUCH better than the regular...

My hubby only drinks Bombay, Fred. Myself...I imbibed way too much on gin back in college and haven't been able to even smell it since. LOL

I just went away for a week with my girlfriend and had a Pomegranate Margarita at the bar there. OMG was it good!

    Summer thread update.

Got a couple. Get some V8 Splash Smoothies, I like the Pina Colada or the Strawberry banana ones. Mix with ice, a bit of sugar if you wish, some Rum or Vodka. And, some fresh blueberries for either, blueberries and strawberries for the Strawberry Banana one.

    Be some good sutff! :-D

Nothing wrong with tossing a couple of scoops of ice cream off into the blender when making these... Vitamins, fresh fruit, buzz, and some calcium. Can't go wrong with that.

That sounds good - gonna have to go to there...

The PJ references make for some fond memories - we'd do it in a gallon milk jug - the morning after, the hair of the dog would be the saturated fruit at the bottom...

Some bar we hopped in Mass. had a special, called the 'Tequila Firecracker': 3 pts. house brand tequila, 1 pt. tobasco sauce...whenever some fool would order one, lights and sirens would wail, and the barkeep would clear everyone away, get ready with the mop and bucket...

tried out a couple of drinks recently from a few different sources.
one from maxim magazine, which tasted really good, and did it's job:
    http://www.maxim.com/humor/stupid-fun/93320/we-want-pitcher.html
I didn't use those types of rum, or the cream of coconut. Instead I used Bacardi Malibu Rum (It's coconut flavored rum, and it was a hell of alot cheaper).

The other was from a weekly text message I get from Finlandia Vodka.
Instead of making 1 glass, I used a pitcher. 1 16oz. bottle of Cranberry Juice, 1 16 oz. bottle of Grapefruit Juice, and 12 oz. of Mango Vodka (again, I used Smirnoff Mango, cause it was alot cheaper, and a little more than 12 oz. :-D)

There's a surcharge for ordering it. And you have to settle your bill before you take your first sip. ;)

    • Green man- bottle of blue WKD, vodka, lemonade.
    • Cheeky Vimto- Bottle of blue WKD shot of port, lemonade.

Other strangeness (to some) that I regularly serve at work but which is not cocktails -

    • Bitter and lime
    • Mickey mouse (half lager half bitter)
    • Snakebite or 1/2 & 1/2 - half cider, half lager :-D
    • Black n' Tan - half mild half Guiness

My own favourite... Thatcher's Cider :drool

OHHH, the Jelly Belly French Vanilla and Some nice dark Rum... :drool I hope we start selling this stuff. Is good! Add Hershey's Chocolate syrup for a truly wicked nice drink, but I pity your brain in the morning if you have one too many. Is a LOT of sugar.

    Thread update!

We get flavored sodas for the people who work in the laundry next door. Got a lime flavored one, and they have not bought any of them. So, after a week, curiosity got the best of us. We tried one. We each took a sip, and I said this would be great with some gin, he nodded. So, I tried on. Got to be careful, this one can sneak up on you! Plus, it is green, so cool looking.

Crush Lime Soda about 5 or 6 ounces, with 1.5 or 2 ounces of your favorite Gin. Good stuff. A cherry garnish might go well with it, did not have any to try.

I think Crush is a Pepsi product.

http://crushsoda.com/ Aw craps, it is a seasonal drink! :-D

It is great with Gin, but watch out! Dangerous beverage. You can get fooked up on this stuff! With Vodka, lol, you better watch your bartender... :-D

I just had the necessity to do this one, 1/3rd each rum/coke/ unsweetened apple juice plus a sprinkle of cinnamon which the gf really likes! It's quite intoxicating.:p:-D

  36. Fred_G

    Fred_G Heat packin' geek

Wow, you mix em heavy up north don't yah Augie! ;) I might try that one, with a bit less Rum... Will have to find unsweetened apple juice, have not seen that. Never looked for it either.

augiedoggie The Canadian Loon - LocoAugie (R.I.P. 2012)

Hehehe Fred, ya but it's only me that likes the taste of rum, up to a point of course.;) Do it which ever way you please. We are lucky as we grow a lot of apples, and so does Vermont. DO NOT buy apple drinks as those are sweetened, you may have better luck reconstituting a frozen can.

It's the same everywhere, the further one is from the source the worse the food gets.:(

Let's call it a Hawgie Ooh weee Doggie then!:-D Giddy up my fair maiden!roflmao

BTW, I forgot to add unfiltered too to unsweetened, it's brown in colour and not yellow which most folks are used to. If you can't find it in your local mega-mart, try a health food store. Now for some hair of the dog.:yum
