LG super multi media dvd burner question

LG dvd burner question



ok so i fixed the operating system of this ibm,,i thought it was a hp my bad...lol before i got it my friend took it in the dude wanted to replace the mother board?because the screen was just black..so i got win 7 running great they must have unhooked the dvd burner because now the cd/dvd player works but the burner below it does not the tray opens, but the com does not reconize it..i also see a red wire comming off it with a usb type of end that is not plugged in..and i cant figure out where it goes?

the computor is a ibm im sure the burner is sats and the red data cable that plugs into the mother board but i cant find a connection anywhere...it worked before.???:confused

Are you sure that it is the same DVD-RAM drive??? If that worked before, maybe you had a IDE unit. And the connectors in the MOBO comes beside the IDE connectors, which model of MB you have?:confused

 

its a ibm think center the cd dvd player is hook up like all others with that big ribbion in the back of it and 2 other plug ins,....but the burner below is different its like the posted pic but the red data cable i cant find where it goes?

Those are SATA cables if you can not find where those ones goes, probably you do not see them...
