I, being the security nut that I am, have recently downloaded and installed a program called peerblock. The issue I am having is that the program is not starting due to a number of critical windows services that are not active.
I tried manually starting them, and the errors will be as follows.

basic filtering engine : Error 1290
The service start failed since one or more services in the same process have an incompatible service SID type setting. A service with restricted SID access can only coexist in the same process with other services with a restricted SIG type. If the service SID type for this service was just configured, the hosting process must be restarted in order to start this service.

ipsec policy agent : Error 1068
The dependency service or group failed to start.

IKE and Authipsec keyring modules : Error 1068
The dependency service or group failed to start.

I was curious as to whether or not an outside program had altered this, so I'll give you a system readout and a hijackthis log in case this is the issue.
I am currently scanning with MBAM, and it has not found anything as of yet.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.

    Thank you in advance. :)

    Welcome, stillimage :)

Could you attach a screenshot of running processes from Taskman (show Processes from all Users), please?

Also running Services, click Status to sort them so all the running Services are at the top.

I must say the first thing that pops out at me like a punch from Tyson is the fact that your CPU usage is 100%. Seems like A LOT of services running at the same time. I think your CPU would more than agree with me. :-D

That was due to a spike, the CPU usage hovers at around 10% most times.
Most of those services are from McaFee.

Hmm, 80 Processes and all those Services are not doing your PC any favours. Can you tell us all the main uses of your computer please? It'll help determine what can be disabled at startup.

1 little anomaly, only part of McAfee's firewall seems to be running, the Core service is running but the McMPFSvc Service is stopped. I'd like to see the Windows System and Application logs please, try to find out what's happening there. Right-click (My) Computer > Manage > System tools > Event viewer > Windows logs. Select one of them at a time, then export it as an *.evt file. When you have them both, zip and upload them.

Back to those Processes, could we see a screenshot from Taskman with the highest CPU %?

I am heading to work, I can remotely access my computer in about an hour, and will edit the logs into this post.

10 minute cut-off time for editing here :)

Here's a fairly simple way to set your Services back to default, read the whole page before downloading the correct file for your version of Windows (W7 HP 64-bit?). Once you've applied the regfix, rebooting should see your PC reset to default services (except any linked here).

You'll need to manually turn off the Windows Firewall if McAfee Firewall is running properly (they may not cause issues by running together but it's better to rule out any potential clash).

Test and report back, please, after work will be ok ;)

The windows log files from the event viewer are too large to attach here, the system log alone is 20 mb, the registry patch had no effects. Still getting the same errors.

Is there a safe site that I can upload these to?

There's nothing sensitive in those logs that I've ever seen, rar/zip them, email them to my user name @ yahoo.co.uk ?
