    System: HP Pavilion A6430f
    Motherboard: Original - M2n68-LA (Narra3) - Died (Local Tech)
    Replaced - M2n68-LA (Narra3)

After replacing the mobo, my system still does not boot. Fan on Processor runs.

What am I missing? Please help!

You mean it is not booting into the BIOS? Are you getting any error messages or beeps at all?

No Beeps. Both fans turn on... but no Post! Is it possible that Processor has gone bad?

    Thank You for your reply.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

Tried everything but still unsuccessful. Any other ideas? Please help. HP wants $350 for repairs (Original cost of PC is $800+)!

    I'd suggest starting from scratch.
Visually inspect the board for any obvious cracks, burn tracks, etc.
Make sure the motherboard standoffs are correctly placed, and that the board is not grounding to the case in any way.
Reinstall the processor, making sure that no pins are bent or broken.
    Inspect all of the connectors.
I'm not familiar with this particular motherboard - are there any LED indicators?

Let's see using your old motherboard your monitor displayed "VGA Input: No Input Detected" which probably indicates a bad board.

Using the new MB and the same monitor you get a blank screen. If you disconnect the monitor from the new board, does it display "VGA Input: No Input Detected"?

The original mobo was shorted as per the technician. As soon as the power cable was connected to the CPU, it would try to boot, even before pressing the power button.

The replacement mobo (self installed) did not do that. Also, i found some of the pins on processor were bent, which i carefully straightened and placed the processor back in the socket. There are no LEDs that displays whether the power is going to any components or not, but when the keyboard was connected it showed lights on at the power up.

Am trying last resort of giving it to the tech who said the original mobo was short.

Really appreciate all your efforts. At last, I will rebuild with new processor, if thats what the culprit is!!

    Thanks.

Yes. As soon as i connect the pc with the "replacement" mobo, it shows "monitor going to sleep". When connected to this PC, the display comes back.

    Thank you for your inputs.

I have 4 sticks of RAM, two 1Gbs and two 512s. I tried replacing all of them with other DDR2s, but it did not show any signs of Posting...
