Sorry that I can't help on this. Never saw that before.
Maybe someone else will have a good answer for you.
In the meantime, just lay the monitor on its side and continue working.
Not meant as a joke, but as a temporary workaround until it gets resolved.

Silly :) Of I didn't take it as a joke, infact I was thinkinking about doing that anywats, I wasn't sure if I should or not; Cause I was worried it might hurt my machine i left as is. I tried formatting the index ( to see if I could find anything that might be helpful ) and the toolbar, got nowhere fast. :cry. I'll go ahead and put it on it's side now.
    Thanks! :)

Easier than laying on your side, unless working from your bed.
And please check out the 2 links provided.

    Greetings, LoveDove.

Turn your monitor the way it should be. Check the connections of the monitor cable, both at the monitor and at the computer.

Did you try the suggestions offered in the links posted above?

Did the symptoms appear on their own, or did some event occur to cause the symptoms?

Have you tried rebooting the machine?

And, what make and model # of machine is this?

Yeah I think I'll turn it upright though it's eaiser to this way. :(

Yes I did, but i couldn't figure out how to click the desktop like the instuctions said to do.

I was in the middle of something, when I looked back up at my screen it was side ways. I duno if that makes much since, but here I sit w/a side ways screen. :cry

Yes I tried Rebooting a couples of times, unpluged it from the outlet and the connection in the wall. Nothing worked. :(

The make is a Del the model? Where do I find that at? :confused

It would help if you would tell us whether you are using XP, Vista or Windows 7, but as this just 'happened' Im guessing it's XP and you have accidentally hit the key combination that can cause this. If so then close any open programs, including Internet Explorer, and just click your mouse anywhere on an empty bit of the desktop. Then hold down CTRL and ALT together and hit the UP arrow.

This might not work on a laptop though.

Right click on the decktop and hit settings for your graphics card there is a setting to rotate the view. (Nivida 7800)

mmm, well if you have tried what I suggested and it hasn't worked I don't have any other suggestion atm. Is this a laptop btw? If so you might need to beg or borrow a USB or wireless keyboard and use the dedicated arrow keys to get the fix to work.

    I have a wireless keyboard.

Ok, LoveDove - let's try this again.

Right-click on an empty portion of your desktop. Does a menu appear?

the nivida controll panel is what i personaly have for controlling the graphics settings on my graphics card.

if you have a graphics card you may have this setting there or if you are using a chip set for graphics the setting would be in the settings or display properties of the properties menu when you right click on the desktop.

Right click on desktop then properties then settings then advanced button it may be there to change the display orientation

Nvidia Control Panel is usually installed with the drivers for a Nvidia graphics card or chip. It is nothing you buy. Using Nvidia Control Panel would be another way to rotate the screen.

Oops, pattyandme beat me to it.
