I never got any pop-ups. Obviously I use a much superior browser. Or my AdBlock is just more rabid.

Hey now, be nice. I at least took the time to click on the only link I saw that said "affiliate-something"... as far as I'm concerned that's basic courtesy if you know the person running the site.

I went to that page and scrolled down half way and now got a page come up saying antivirus online protection fake virus thingy. And closed it out.

 

This does not seem the proper thread for this board.

LOL Zack, I liked you from the beginning for some reason, now I know why. I didn't drill down too far in the blog so if my suggestion of using phpBB might seem idiotic, then so be it. Damn man, I would have burnt his skin to a crisp first!:-D

hmmm when i went to it right away Avast stopped the page from loading and some fake thing about windows defender popped up and started doing a fake scan of my hard drive. (Had the name of my drive wrong.) and said if i try to leave the page or stop the scan my computer will slow down. lol

 

At the very bottom of the blog, after the entire conversation log, there's a link that says "affiliate marketing". Led to a perfectly legitimate online marketing company.

And I'm using NoScript and AdBlock Plus too, that might be why I don't get anything. I have NoScript set to pretty rabid levels as well.

 

Z if its your advertising setup thats causing that, you need to put an end to that, even more so if you ever have hopes of making any legit business take off. Just a friendly tip, but if you have that happen to customers, very unlikely they will ever trust ya.

Zack, none of the regulars here have "triggerclick" fingers. Neither do you. I'd definitely hit a link from a long time member as yourself.

Don't get pulled down by what happened, just be a lot more wary and keep your guard up. It's a learning experience.

Z im not saying its your fault i just want you to understand, if you hope to do web type business, your gonna run into this alot with traffic adds, that they may be infected and you have to be very careful/on top of that, because if you start infecting customers or potential customers, even if by accident, then thats gonna hurt your business.

Got my attention real quick.

 

+1 Scroll down while reading and was getting to the best part and then tab opens up and does the fake scanning and notifying me that I have some trojans and etc.. I was like dang! Close everything out and restarted pc and scans came up clean. :-D

 

Just to get back on topic for a bit, I do agree with the poster at the end of the convo, not everybody is as lucky as you Zack, not to say that you didn't work hard to get where you are either.

Also, I FIXED MY NETBOOK!

 

I'm still not getting anything from your site, even with all scripts temporarily enabled in NoScript. Though of course, you did remove the ads... I noticed the affiliate marketing link was gone when I looked for it to click.

I'm with everyone else as well, this wasn't your fault, it was just bad luck. Think of it as a learning experience and be glad it was us, and not a potential future customer.

 

Hmm? Perhaps Zack has more up his sleeve than he's letting on to. I wouldn't count a big bunch of knowledgeable geeks as not being 'potential customers'. Well, depends on what he's selling eh?:-D

 

Possibly as a test to see if he would get called for it?rolleyes
