U.S. Government has been very busy. Without any need for COICA, ICE has just seized the domain of a BitTorrent meta-search engine along with those belonging to other music linking sites and several others which appear to be connected to physical counterfeit goods.

Homeland securities involvment with seizing domains and monitoring p2p networks could be directly related to such super rootkits as stuxnet

google stuxnet, it was responsible for infecting PLC's in irans nuclear power plants.

this is the only reason i could think that HLS would be involved in p2p crackdowns, as the stuxnet rootkit model is p2p

 

I feel so much safer now.

 

At least our malware fighting team can relax a bit now from cleaning the power industry's computers from stuxnet.-D

Most of those sites sold fake name brand clothes, shoes and accessories. Hundreds of billions of dollars of counterfeit goods are sold every year. Hundreds of billions of reasons for them to be involved.

As for stuxnet, the consensus is it's the product of a government cyberwar program targeted at Iran. I doubt it's connected to fake Gucci purses.
