    Hello Geeks!
I got started off on the wrong foot with my first thread. I hope this one is better. Looks like you have the support of one facebook fan.

Hi oneeyejack. Welcome to Major Geeks. 's good to have you. :)

I'm actually going to move this to the Lounge since the software forum is for support. Don't worry about it though, we move threads all the time if they fit better in another forum...sometimes one started by, ahem, older membersLOL.

Yep...a good following on facebook for MGs. The volunteers here are the best.

Hope to see you on the Facebook page and around here.:)

    Hello LauraR.
I agree. You are a friendly forum and have some of the best tech and volunteers on the internet.
I have all the Apps. I need. I really have more than I need. My PC runs as smooth as silk. I think I have the best software there is, and most of it is freeware recommended by MajorGeeks.
I trust MG to test software thoroughly before they recommend it and I really believe they do.
I got into a little trouble on my first thread here on the forum when I bad mouthed MG for recommending a software that has a major Leak problem.
Tim said; and I hope I quote him correctly, that they would go out of business if they stopped recommending software with Memory Leaks.
I'm probably going to get in trouble for this, but I hope not.
I have a whole bunch of software recommenced by MG. They are all excellent and none of them have a Memory Leak problem.
Memory Leaks is not a big deal for skilled PC users, but it can be devastating to people like myself and that's all I'm going to say about that. I'll stop here before I get myself in trouble.
I really hope I can be an asset to this forum, and will try real hard to stay out of trouble.
Thank you again for your warm welcome LauraR.
I hope you take what I posted as a comment Mr. Tim because that's how I meant it to be.
I'm a big fan of MajorGeeks.

Really not a good idea to get MA riled up.
Hopefully you won't poke somebody else with a pointed stick.
    See you around.

    Hello!
Not sure what all this is telling me.
I'm wondering what the spikes are, but my PC runs really well for being over 6 years old. I really don't want it to be any faster:-D I only have 1gb of Ram, but that seems to be enough. Maybe if I had more RAM, I wouldn't have to worry about Memory Leaks:-D

    Those spikes are normal.
Wrong forum posting again though oneeyejack.
Have to say you're taking IObit to the cleaners, even on FB LOL

    Hello hrlow2
I sure didn't mean to poke any anyone with a stick. I wanted to praise MG for a great site and make it known to the members that I always go to MajorGeeks to down load my Apps. That's the reason I started this thread in the first place. I did go off topic. If I have poked anyone here, please except my sincere apology, it was not what I intended to do. Some times things just don't come out the way you planned for them to. I hope that I'm allowed to explain myself when that happens.:-o:-o
I hope to see you around also.
    Thank you for your reply!!
I'm a big fan of MajorGeeks.

    Hello sikvik>
Thank you for your reply. Good to know those spikes are normal. I better not comment any further. When ever I post some where, I do so thinking I'm helping someone; it doesn't always turn out the way I planed it. It took me months to figure out what was causing my slow downs and freeze ups. I hope this explains my actions on FB.

    Hello members!
I hope I'm not beating a dead horse to the ground. A reply to this thread concerned my actions on FB. I will try to answer that reply and then I'll leave this thread to the archives .
This is very important to me, because I believe there are many people that have this problem. A restart will hide this problem for awhile, but it will return again. It took me a long time to find this and I just want every noob like myself to know what this problem causes and how to recognize it.

    Hi Welcome

Not beating a dead horse at all, just start a new thread in the software forum and include all the info you can, Windows version and Service Pack, the security apps your are using to whats in your startups.

This will help narrow down any issues, the thing to remember is all PC setups in reguard to Hardware and Software are different so oen fix may not fix all, the fixes may need to be tailored per PC.

Memory Leaks are a PITA, but most times they can be traced to a 3rd party app, be it IOBITs security app to in some cases maybe even the also mentioned on the FB page (the image in 1st post) Malwarebytes, it all depends on what other software is installed and running.

But start a new thread in the software forum area and you will get some great thoughts and maybe some fixes to this issue.

    Hello Halo.
Thank you for your great reply.
I have xp3 Service pack 3.5. Every thing is up dated.
I'm not having any trouble. My PC is running as smooth as silk.
Sense you mentioned IObit security, I'm assuming that I can also.
I had slow downs and freezes for months. I replaced IObit 360 with MBAM, and no more problems. I tried my best to get IObit to address the problem. Their answer was that they were working on other software and didn't have the time or resources to fix the Memory Leak. This made me very angry. I will not comment any further about that.
It is my understanding from reliable sources, that they still haven't fixed the problem.
I thank you for your great reply. I'm not having any problems. I'm just trying to help members.
PS Your are absolutely right Memory Leaks are real PITA. I'm feeling better about all this knowing someone understands that I only want to help and I don't want to poke anyone with a sharp stick. You have made my day. Thank you!!

    Hi

Its not necessarily IOBITs issue, as it as I said maybe another app on your PC thats interaction with IOBIT that could possibly be causing this, as I mentioned take it to a Software thread if you wish to try and diagnose this, but I would imagine you dont wish to troubleshoot this by re-installing IOBIT again.

So worth just sticking with the app in MBAM that you know is ok on your PC setup.

We will all get different mileage from various apps, IOBIT may work great for me, as it has dont on a test PC of mine (I am using Windows 7 though) with the other security and startups I have installed, but the same may not be said for someone else or a differend PC of mine with different hardware and software installed.

Software and apps is a minefield these days for compatability with the various Windows versions and Service Packs to the interaction with different other non-Micrsoft (3rd party) apps.

Glad I made someone elses day today as some patients in work where happy also :) so thank you and I guess as you have made your point now, so we can move onto other topics :)

    Hello Halo.
I have started a thread in the software section. I hope I'm not in trouble. If it gets deleted, I will know this subject is off limits.
You have made my day once again my friend. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is a quote from Halo

Hi again oneeyejack. I have deleted your newest thread.

Halo's point was that if you would like to have an issue diagnosed, you should post your problem in the Software forum. It sounds like you have diagnosed and solved your issue.

I would suggest you drop the IOBIT discussion. We've encountered this already in the past. Major Attitude, who addressed your last thread and locked it, is one of the co-owners of Major Geeks and has spoken to the folks at IOBIT. It's still up for download here, so they feel comfortable with it. Like any software, there is always a chance that something won't mesh with someone's system. Unless, someone is coming in asking specifically for help with it, it's just not something we want another thread started on.

    Hello LauraR.
I understand your decision, and I will honor it.
I know in my heart that I meant only to help and not hurt.
I'm a cancer survivor, and we just don't know when to give up. You have been good to me and very fair and I really appreciate you. I will not pursue this issue any more on this site.
If I have caused any hurt feelings to anyone ,please except my sincere apology.
Please except my sincere apology Major Attitude. I respect and admire you sir as you well know from my email to you.
This issue is closed and I thank this forum for not banning me and listening to my side of all this.
    Oneeyejack I'm a MajorGeek fan!!;);)

    Hello Geeks!
I just want to say this for those that don't think I'm a MajorGeeks fan.
I have 15 Free Apps recommenced by Tim.
    Advanced System Care 3
    Malwarebytes
    Superantispyware
    Avira
Combofix(I don't run this only it's suggested by a Malware fighter)
    GMER( Dito on this one)
    Online Armor
    Memtest 86
    CCleaner
    RegSeeker
    IObit Smart Defrag
    Mozilla Firefox
    PC Wizard
    Img Burn
    Fast Stone Image Viewer
    Revo Uninstaller
I love and use everyone of these. They keep my PC running like it was brand new. I guess it's OK if we disagree on one recommended by Tim. ;) I've always been a MG fan and for anyone here that thinks I came here to cause trouble; you are very wrong.
I will try very hard to be more positive in the future.
It's 4:43 in the morning here. Damn neuropathy woke me up. Don't ever do chemo; it's bad news, but I'm still alive. PS forgot one Macrium Reflect. I really love this one.
