Hey iv got a Viewsonic VX2260wm. I try turning my pc on and my monitor is dead. It was switched off the night before and wasn't touched in any way.
Iv tried switching power cables and dvi cables. Still no life. No power light, nothing on screen, totally dead.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Normally I would say to try another monitor but with no power light either, it sounds certain the monitor, or its power supply is dead. There's really nothing you can do about it - assuming you are certain there's power at the wall outlet. Power supplies can only properly be tested while under a realistic load so you need to take it to a shop where a qualified technician can test it out. Make sure it is not under warranty first. According to this page, yours has a 3-year warranty.

No problem. BTW, don't get turned off to ViewSonic by this. They make excellent monitors and until mankind can create perfection, even the best made products can fail.

Adding to Digerati's comment, check with ViewSonic to see if they offer an "Advance RMA" option. With an Advance RMA, a mfr. will ship a replacement monitor in advance; greatly reducing your time without a monitor.

The only catch is you have to provide a major credit card # and return the dead one within 15-30 days (depending on the mfr.) or your card will be charged for the replacement. If this option is chosen, many mfrs. will also include a pre-paid shipping label for the return, plus you'll have a return shipping box if you tossed the original one.

Even if this option isn't listed in the warranty terms, it never hurts to ask.

One other note. If you originally purchased the monitor using MasterCard, Visa or American Express, you may have an extra year's warranty through the card issuer (the same benefits package that offers free rental car insurance, trip insurance, etc.). If in doubt, call the "800" number on the back of your card and ask.

Wow you guys are really helpful. I live over in the UK but the warranty is the same. 3 Years. Im a bit worried about the warranty though. It was bought as a present from my sister. I still have the invoice but wouldnt she have to contact them as she was the one who purchased it? I'll look into the other stuff you mentioned. Thanks alot

No. If they ask, just tell them it was a gift. It may even have a manufacturing date stamped on the back or bottom.

Usually the unit's serial # can track the date of manufacture. If the manufacture date is less than 3 years and it was a gift you shouldn't have a problem.
