Note: These are not AV programs.

Much obliged, the Malware Removal Guide - READ & RUN ME FIRST provided by majorgeeks.com is superb. So, when a friend requested assistance the MR Guide was utilized. Thank you guys.

    Wired internet connection 100MBs
    OS Windows Vista 32 bit
Used personal laptop+USB to obtain files

    Before starting the symptoms were:

-Browsers did not deploy (pop-up) , IE or Chrome
-Task Manager would automatically minimize then close
-windows update would not connect to the internet either

Lacking an internet connection, a decision was made to run Windows Defender.
    -Defender updated (connected to internet)
    -Scanned system
    --found 4 malicious files

    Via Add/Remove
    -Uninstalled 2nd AV (Webroot)
    -Uninstalled and Updated Java
-Attempted to uninstall my web search unsuccessfully

-DL and Copied CCleaner from USB
    --ran and deleted files
-Changed file setting to view hidden files
    -MSConfig set to Normal StartUP
    * restart computer
-Attempted to Uninstalled Malware ( my web search) via Add/Remove Program again unsuccessful
    *restart computer
-Copied and Installed all AV software on to infected computer
    --SuperAntiSpyware
    --Malwarebytes
    --Combofix
    --RootRepeal
    --MGtools

    -Disable UAC
    *Restart computer
    -Ran AVs and got logs
    --SuperAntiSpyware
    ---scan removed 703 threats
    *Restart computer
    --Malwarebytes
    ---scan removed 57 files
    *Restart computer

    --ComboFix w/o internet connection
    ---CRASHED - BLUE SCREEN
    --Combofix w internet connection
    ---updated
---scanned and removed 2 files +2 H Keys
    *Restart computer

    ============
At this point errors became prevalent
    ============

    --RootRepeal w/o internet
    ---froze until error
    ----last completed file

    C:\Windows\winsxs\Catalogs\x86_microsoft.msxml2_6bd669abf345378f_4.1.0.0_none_3658456fda6654f6.cat

    ----stalled at directory

    C:\Windows\winsxs\Manifests\

    --RootRepeal w/ internet
    ---same result as w/o internet

Note: When the stall directory was reached the memory usage steadily increased to the max 2GB as shown by the Task Manager causing an error. The RR error window displayed just a border with the window pane being transparent.

    RRLog skipped

    --MGtools > GetLogs.bat
---Window opened and instantaneously closed (no scan ran)
    ---NO LOGS

    --ran AnalyseThis
    ---log attached

Hope some of this information helps. Thanks again for all the help in the past and future :p

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win 7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Lvceiejl8z/ll\AppData\Local\Temp\150419172.exe] "C:\Users\Dell\AppData\Local\Temp\150419172.exe"
O23 - Service: Webroot Client Service (WRConsumerService) - Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Webroot\WebrootSecurity\WRConsumerService.exe (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it has expired or need to be updated to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    You're welcome.
None of this was requested and should not have been done. And now because you still have malware being detected in your follow up logs, you may have made additional steps more difficult to complete. In addition, removing the restore points to soon could be potentially a big problem if we needed to use one to recover from a problems that could still arise from doing malware removal. In the future, you should only be doing what we ask you to do ( as stated in the READ & RUN ME ) until we give you the all clean and final instructions.

You now need to disable UAC again and then reboot for it to take effect. Then you need to disable Avira before doing the below.

    Uninstall the below software:
    Mirar
