This year it's my husband. What do you get a man who isn't into electronics???:confused:cry The only thing I've gotten him so far is a watch winder. Yes, a watch winder. He needs it but he is so not going to be wow'd by this gift. I need to figure something else.

Anyone else having problems with people or maybe give me suggestions.

ME, I'm a nightmare to buy for and to buy for myself, been racking my brains to think of something to get myself, after seeing the Xbox360 + Kinect last week and chatting to one fo the evangelists from that Team.... its a winner so far.

What other hobbies does he have Laura, I guess golf is one, so maybe something gadgety for golf, some wildcards HERE

I'm good this year have everything so far bar one, as my dad is the same to buy for, not easy, he hates tach etc, so I'm thinking something golfy, just not decided what yet.

Okay...that Kinect thing looks awesome, Dave! I've never seen that before, but I'm not into the gaming platforms. That looks like a blast. Sounds like you have some good ideas for yourself.

My husband is majorly into golf, but just like a computer geek, he winds up getting anything he decides he needs. Good idea on the golf gps, but he already has one. :(

I'll figure it out. He likes clothes as well, but I always get him those.

I got my dad the Chef's choice knife sharpener. He loves to cook so will probably like it to sharpen his knives.

Yeah a friend of mine has a Kinect already, and while at hers the other week I thougth this is fun, no controllers to worry about throwing them throught the TV or Windows!! ;)

And getting an insight from the horses mouth so to speak was great.

Clothes are good, and its a pity I dont have a copy of last weeks Live Magazine from the Mail on Sunday as they had gift ideas for all the family and weird ones you'd have never thought of... Oh here is one of the gift parts from last weeks HERE cannot find Part I
Good on the knife sharpener for your dad, those are always a handy thing for someone who loves to cook.

When in doubt, I always go for scratch-off lottery tickets. You never know. :)

I got rid of all the people who are hard to buy for this year! My family FINALLY decided to stop drawing names among the adults and only buy presents for the kids! :-D

The scratch off lottery tickets are fun. We get those from my inlaws each year. Haven't won yet, but ya never know.:)

Lucky you on getting rid of the hard ones. I can't get rid of the hard ones since it's hubby and my dad. :-D

I think that would be your answer to the meaning of life Tim. :-D

A golf cart? LOL He definitely doesn't have a golf cart.

It used to be my son. He always had very specific requests and sometimes the things that he wanted were near impossible to find. Now, when he visits, we give him our credit card, he goes online, buys what he wants and we tell him to act surprised when he opens it. ;)

Currently, it's my youngest daughter. She is getting harder to buy for, because it seems like she already has everything. :confused

My grandsons are fun to buy for, because I get to play with everything that I get them. Remote control stuff is the best :-D

That's the worst for gift buyers..when people seem to have everything. I always figure they like more of what they like though. Like women...it doesn't matter how many clothes, jewelry, or shoes you think they have, they always like more.;)

Yeah, the Kinect system does look pretty awesome, would be better for me as I've tried Eyetoy, but I got fed up with waving my arms around like a Looney to try and get it to register on some menus and games. Some were like "uh? - the games over?" and I haven't worked out what to do yet - besides looking like some kind of hyper-fool on steroids :-o. REALLY exhausting after a while, especially when playing with three young kids that just love all the jigging and jumping around. Anyway, much to their dismay, I did manage to beat them on a few things, LoL!;)
Guys, I find tend to be a lot harder to buy for than most of the girls. Girls, (and women), usually if you buy them something pretty or smelly, (in a good kid of way), they are usually happy. Now most guys are not into that kind of thing, (apart from toiletries, etc.). Sometimes, if they drink, they end up with a bottle of whatever, or if they read, a decent book.
I have to admit, I'm one of those guys that seem to have nearly everything, I mean I own an I.T. Co., so computer stuff I invariably have. But a few folks always seem to find something I like, (usually the women are better at this, for some reason). If anyone want to donate a Ferrari, I guess I wouldn't say no, eh.LOL
Which reminds me, I have to finish my great Christmas spendola today...ugh!

He's gonna love that thing, the best for the money out there, as he must have some good knives already but a sharpening steel can only get one so far before one has to re-hone the blade by a pro. Dull knives make one prone to cutting oneself.;) Maybe Santa will be nice this year and get me one.:major

wahoo!! big shout out for the iToy LOL we've got one and i have to agree its pretty energy-consuming, but good fun for when you've got friends round. Not seen the kinect in use, but they seem to have games pretty much the same as the nintendo's games (kinectimals = nintendogs or aminal crossing or whatever its called).

i have 3 birthday presents to get AND christmas presents this year, but thankfully dad gave me a good list, and he is usually the hardest to buy for, so alls good (he's getting chopsticks :-D). i'm not buying for my bro on the basis of he never gets me anything and, my sister is getting a few cds.

music can be a good option, or failing all other ideas, socks and chocs :) < i mean who doesn't need socks? :confused

My mother. She drops all sorts of hints but I'm throughly oblivious.

Forget Kinect. Move and the Wii are infinitely better. :D

Yep. I think he will augie. He likes gadgets and has been asking to borrow mine (which I love).:)

I have been fortunate to try all three out and while the Wii is very good (not great with the nimbchuck attachement connected to the main controller as its prone to coming apart depending on how vigorous you play), the Move is a PITA as you have to re-calibrate it with this funky setup each time you play a game.

Dont know if you tried Kinect but its so responsive and intuitive once you get past not having a controller in your hand its more realistic, the Beach Vollyball and 10Pin Bowling are awsome... well have a few beers as well and its hilarious to play (but thats another story).

Dont like the Move at all personally and did give it a few days, the Wii and Kinect are the winners for me.

My sister, for sure. She owns two clothing stores, so buying clothes and accessories is out. Plus, whatever I do find, she could buy herself!

What do you get for someone who has/can get anything? :confused

My mother-in-law. When she sees something she wants, she buys it, regardless of what time of year it is. Very annoying...

I fixed the Jiggle problem on the Nunchuck by running the strap through the little clip, then back up into the Wiimote condom. It fits snuggly enough that there's much less wiggle now.

I haven't played with Move yet, but I couldn't work with Kinect. I just felt stupid with nothing in my hands. (Stupider than I felt waving the Wiimote anyway.)

I was trying to figure out what to buy my sister. Ever since I moved away from her, I feel I haven't talked to her enough to know what she wants right now.

I figured it out tho. She is a mother of 3 children, so I am going to go to her house and clean it for her. She would appreciate that more than any gift I could afford to buy her.

My family says Iam the hardest. Cause most of the years I don't give xmas list to the family and each year same thing. Money, gift cards to specific stores or steak n shake, also cologne and if I do make list usually dvds/games. But my systems are consider old to what is out now(ps2 and xbox and gamecube etc) and stores only mainly sell ps3 xbox 360 and other stuff.

What? No potato launcher for her kids? You heartless...

Actually, I think that will be a well appreciated gift. Maybe send her and the family off to the movies while you clean. ;)

My parents are going to give my middle sister and her husband a gift card for four weekends of baby sitting, that they can cash in at any time during the year, as long as they give a few days notice. The kids are 5, 3, and 6 months. I'm thinking it will be their favorite gift this year. :)

@silas: That's why when I want older games, I send them a word document with easily clickable links to Amazon.
