I've just loaded CoD/GotY (an oldie I know) on my NB100... it works fine, but after installing "Duce Ex/Invisible War" all I get is a static telling me I don't have the required soft/hardware.

Does anyone know what I need to download to run the game? - (the intro page's load but the last screen(the cityscape) waits & then closes & I'm back to the desktop)

Any & all insight would be sweet.

If you post your specs, I will do my best to help you with Deus Ex. ;)

When you post your specs, be sure to include your OS and graphics adapter. Update all drivers, especially the graphics driver, just in case.

Sorry about the wait, here's that spec. I think I've got it all.

According to the minimum requirements, Deus Ex doesn't actually support any Intel integrated graphics chipset... it's very specific that it requires an nVidia or ATI video card. However, the reasons given are from lack of specs that today's Intel video chips should have, so you might still be able to get it to run.

Did you buy the game from Steam or from another source? What resolution are you playing and what resolution is your desktop natively? Are you running in compatibility mode? Are you getting specific error messages?

I saw the VGA option's on the back of the game case but at one time I think I had ATI 9200 on this net-book so I figured it'd run o.k.

A few OS's later & I'm stuck... ATI won't go on the NB now, it states I'm missing Software or Hardware I think. (can't rem.). :cry

(how am I going to get a VGA into this tiny thing (pmsl)) :-D

I'll look into what I've got & haven't got some more... bare with me. :)

Here, run Speccy and get a report from it. Attach it to your nest post, so I can see what we have to work with. If you have ATI video in the netbook, then it might just be a matter of getting the driver on there.

No ATI or nVidia graphics... sadly. Intel's spec shet for the 965 Chipset says it does support the needed pixel/vertex shading, however, there is no mention of 3D Acceleration.

Make sure you really have the latest driver for the video adapter installed, but if the video card doesn't support the game, because it's missing certain feature, then there's very little that can be done. :(

    Back again. lol

In the "Intel(c) Graphics Media Accelerator for mobile" under the 3D Setting's button there's a window for OpnGL with the following option's:

    (I/O = On/Off)
    Asynchronous flip I/O
    Triple buffering I/O
    Flipping policy Flip/Blit
    Depth buffer Bit depth Default/16/24
    Force S3TC Texture compression I/O
    Force FXT1 Texture compression I/O
    Driver memory footprint Normal/Low/High
Texture color depth Desktop/16/32 bit's per Texel
    Anisotropic filtering I/O/App. control

Are there any acceleration tweak's I could use? I'm running "Game Booster" but that doesn't do much other than switch on & off non-essential background opp's & De-frag optional folder's.
What about the "Z" buffer...? How can I find & make use of that?

I've tried a few other game's, some load... just not Duce Ex. :(
A racing game I play is still poor even after the dll. update's.

    It's L8 'ere & I need some sleep. I'll pop back after a recharge. ;)
