Xmass Bonus!

My Xmass bonus showed up at my local FFL shop! Me likey. Am going to try to shoot it in the AM. .45 ACP, shoots a 200 grain hollow point, or 230 grain FMJ's.

I will need a couple of spare magazines for it. :guns

 

Not into the colour,is it painted matt grey? I would much rather blued steel or slightly shiny black.

But other than that as usual I just want to remind you how lucky you are to have that freedom and I hope you don't take it for granted:-D I'm glad your enjoying every minute I'd love that gun,heck I'd love to just to fire that gun once.45 is a big round plenty of stopping power.

If like the older model Colt I trained with in the Army, you have a winner.
They will put a target down way better than lots of firearms that people pride themselves on today.
Plenty of stopping power. And a pretty good kick.

 

The finish on it is 'Parkerized' Rikky. Not the most attractive look, but it is inexpensive and is supposed to be pretty durable. Aand believe me, I fully understand the freedoms we have.

Hrlow, this is based on the classic 1911 designed by John Mosses Browning back in the late in the 1800's or early 1900's. This one is a 'match grade', with better sights (adjustable also) than the basic military gun. Has a better trigger, and stainless barrel. Just a few refinements on in my opinion, the best handgun platform invented so far.

Accurate beast as well. I have not shot in a couple of months. Went to the range this morning, shot 2 8 round mags as fast as I could, and had all 16 in a 4.25" group at 10'. The gun is currently more accurate than I am.

Ahem. Seriously, and without joking further, that is a very nice-looking gun. I do like the color, primarily because I have always preferred the more "business like" color and finish of either guns or swords, regardless of what they are and where they come from. Don't bother with the glitzy finish and fancy looks... just give me pure functionality. It has a beauty all on its own, and a far more pure one at that.

And a Happy New Year to you. Why resisting a nasty comment? I am shooting 4" rapid groups at 10 feet. This gun will teach me. It is an impressive tool, one I will enjoy learning.

Totally different from the Glock I am used to. Might sell the Tupperware gun. :-D

 

I don't doubt that for a moment. It's just that the phrase, "this gun is more accurate than I am" is an open invitation for all sorts of sarcastic abuse... LOL

Glad you're enjoying your bonus. It's a beautiful and obviously well crafted gun (as evidenced by its accuracy), and my suggestion is that you spend some quality time with it, so you two can get to know each other properly, for the next month or so.

Augie! None of my weapons have enough range to even get out of my parish, not to mention all the extra distance to Canada. You are quite safe from me. :-D

I found a gun club down the interstate. They have a shotgun range, pistol range, and 500 yard rifle stuff!! I just might join. :-D

 

Also found out today, that I am getting $3K to pay for my new used car. Plus I got a .45? Honestly, I am speechless. :major
