pci express 2.0

How do you tell if your pci express 2.0 has x 16 if you are not sure if it is a x 16 or not?

i bought a system, and my system was bought over a year ago, but i do remember, there was no motherboard Manuel. in fact there was no Manuel at all.

 

Well, in that case you can open the case, and the name and model of the motherboard should be silk screened onto the motherboard itself.

 

i looked once again. my case does not have a name on it except for asus. but right above my pci express 1 where my network card is at right now I see very small, thin wording to the left of my processor. PCI x15 2 0 . I think that 5 is a 6 but its hard to know for sure, it looks worn out.

 

No such thing as x15 so it must be x16.

 

yea, but it dosent make sense why asus would put it soooo far away from the card slot

 

It shouldn't be that far away, where is your network card? If it's on the normal place it shouldn't be too far. Anyway i'd bet that you have a x16 slot.

 

well my slot is below where my network card is at, and the wording is to the left of my processor, almost above it., right where my onboard hdmi input is at.
