Recently we switched to Sprint wireless internet from Hughes Dish (thank God) and all our lap tops work but our PC which have USB wireless adaptors read it say its there but will not connect. :(
The PC have Netgear WG!!!,2 USB with upgraded software. Whats up?
    Any suggestions?
Or should I get all new USB or would an internal card work better?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi

Do you have a firewall as in a 2rd party one, such as Norton, ZoneAlarm etc if so disable them to test that they are not blocking your access, if you can connect then open up the firewalls control panel and delete the network then try and connect again and when the firewall notices a new network add/allow it.

Could uninstall the Netgear software and drivers, then reboot and re-install.

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?
Do you get any error messages when trying to connect, if so what are they?

I would try a clean install of your wireless driver, remove the driver and software for your device in the add/remove programs list, then restart your machine, if you have an install disc for the wireless usb use it to re-install the driver and software. I would then search to see if there is an up-dated version for your driver.
Hopefully this should resolve your issue.

Hi, I would definately go for an internel PCI Express wireless card (if you have a spare slot on board) rather than a usb one, the PCI E card is very simple to install, just need to heed the general ground rules of when you open the case of your machine, as in making sure the power is off (kettle plug removed) and grounding your self to aliminate static shock. If you do decide to up-grade just post back here and i can assist in helping you to install by giving you a run through of a *How To Do* or to help with any further issues.
You can pick up PCI E wireless cards fairly cheaply, Amazon and Ebay are good places to look !!
