What hardware components are impacted with added expansion cards to a computer?

Hello. I have a question.

Adding expansion cards (whether PCI or PCI-E cards) to a motherboard increase (more voltage, more power, more heat, and more stress) on:

A. Northbridge voltage controller?
B. Memory controller voltage?
C. Southbridge voltage controller?

For each of these above, does adding expansion cards impact any one of these? If so which ones? Please explain how they are impacted too.

Also, if you KNOW of ANOTHER hardware component or internal sub-component that is impacted with adding expansion cards, please let me know WHAT it is and HOW it is impacted.

I may be wrong here but i think that the NB connects the CPU to the memory and graphics card. But adding extra graphics cards makes no difference to how much extra juice you need to put into the NB. Like it said in the other post, have you actually got a problem? Or just trying to create one?

 

As far as I'm aware a new GPU (providing it's compatable) has little to no impact on CPU or chipsets etc, the thing it will hog depending on the card is juice from your PSU.

As Burrell asked... do you actually have a problem? It would be easier to give an acurate answer if we knew what the problem is or at least why you are asking the question.

Again my friends, no issues here. I am just trying to learn something, that's all. Thanks for your concerns. Basically, there is no corrolation between expansion cards and those components. Just a thought I had.

Just a quicks something to add;

If you're getting a new grahics card then please make sure you have a capable power supply as usually the graphics card uses the most power in the system and Generic power supplies like to take things with them when they blow from having too high a load for a long period.

Good Day! Thanks my friend!!! Thanks for the added comment. Yes, my graphics card does indeed have an extra power supply connection at the end of it. EVGA recommends it, and I don't think twice about not using it.

Yes, to date I have replaced my graphics card and I am royally confused at this point what this issue in that thread. If you have any thoughts, please feel free to share (or anyone either) at this thread or over there if you wish. Could it be my motherboard??? ...hmmm....
