Do people ever think before talking anymore?

I was in my co-workers office about to tell him something and my boss walked by and he looks down at my foot (I'm only wearing one shoe).

Me:Yea, I only have one shoe on because my foot hurts.
Boss: why?
Me: I got hit by a car this morning
Co-worker: A moving car?!?
Me: no a stopped one. rolleyes

I mean, really, you’re going to ask me if I got hit by a MOVING car? How else does one get hit by a car? :-D

 

I am ok, bruised knee, scraped hand and I think how I spun when I fell made me pull a muscle in my foot because if I rub a certain spot on my foot, it doesn’t hurt anymore.

How it happened, I was standing at the corner and from a distance I saw the lady put on her turn signal and I thought she was going to turn on the street next to me, so I started crossing the street. Well, I guess she changed her mind because the next thing I know, I’m doing a little spin and end up on the ground!

Despite all that, I’m more entertained that he asked me if I got hit by a moving car.. No, I decided to take a running leap into a parked car! :-D

 

So we have established that the car was moving... next question that springs to mind is... was the car moving forward? :-D

The foot is better. I wrapped a bandage around it and am trying to keep it elevated by resting it on top of my tower (it's on the floor) but it's hard to keep it there because I am so used to crossing my legs. I am really starting to contemplate getting myself a bubble to live in LOL

 

No shoes we're harmed in the making of this tread, i mean thread ! :-D

Yea, my boss has a great sense of humor. It's my coworker (the one referenced above) that always says the silliest things like the other day he asked me where we kept the open invoices WHILE he was looking through the drawer clearly marked OPEN INVOICING and then got mad at me when I smirked at him. I mean, come on, how could I not? :-D

To the not thinking before someone talks the one that really bothers me is:

You have a friend, name is John Doe. This person knows you know their last name. You ask, "Are you related to Jane?" They reply "Jane who?" "Ummm obviously the same last name as your since I know yours and that's how I thought you two might be related." OK maybe not a big deal but some people, well most don't think before talking.

 

I hope the foot is soon better Dyamond.Are you sure you don't need shoe assistance? Imelda Marcos has expressed her willingness to donate...

I get asked stupid questions at work too. Boss "Can you get a case of Chimay?" Me "Nope, we are out of Chimay." Boss "What do you mean we are out of Chimay?" :confused Me "Kinda early to be drinking the samples isn't it?" :-D

 

OMG I actually just face palmed :-D

And even if the shoes had been hurt, it's ok, they will go to heaven... cos ... you know.... shoes have soles

 

If they ever are, I want you to know that my swords are completely at your service. The shoes must be protected!

:eek Glad you are ok, dyamond, and sorry you are sore. Between you falling and now getting run down in the street I think we do need to put you in a bubble; or at least some bubble wrap! Quality dyamonds are few and hard to come by!!! I'll make a few calls and see if I can get a CH-47 to deliver a few tons of bubble wrap to your house and roll you up in it

I never, EVER, trust other drivers - If I am walking or mobile I always assume the worst out of those puttering about around me. People, by and large, are inattentive when it comes to the world they are driving through - and even the best drivers have their "igno-seconds."
