Title nomination...

Please pardon me if this is out of line...

I hereby nominate MG member satrow to receive some sort of special title - the guy constantly reads minidump and BlueScreenView scans with great accuracy. I find myself waiting for him to show up when there's a BSOD problem posted in the Support Forums, because right now, from what I can tell, he's the resident expert.

Something like "The Minidump Master" or "BSV Wizard".

Again - apologies if this is not kosher. I'd understand completely if this is against any forum etiquette rules.

But the man's a machine!

Hey, reading minidumps is easy, anyone can do it - making sense of them is almost impossible the majority of the time anyway, it's still down to trial and error, guesswork and a lot of luck ^_^

Sometimes I hit lucky but only because I might try more than others (on MG's at least, from what I can tell). On other fora, there are a few real experts at reading the dumps, I don't even come close to their abilities or experiences.

And I'm not here to look for any kind of title or special recognition, sometimes it's nice to be 'just' another part time helper.

All that said, I'm happy to take a look at the dumps, system logs, etc. if another helper shoots me a PM to look in on a thread, but sometimes I hit a blank and don't see anything to work with. My brain only works well with 'interesting' things, if I don't see anything that lights a spark, I'm stuck.

I've thought that before too. Stuffy title, funny sig. The title should at least be cleaver!

I don't even want to know why people are searching cake lickers.

I still don't like TimW's title. Very uninspired.

 

Some folks sacrifice being cool for being helpful. I can think of several titles for TimW in jest but none compare to his current one. (I wonder if that's enough brown-nosing?!:-D)
