new computer slow on opening programs

Hello, I have a 6 month old computer and the programs open slow after it sets overnight. after opening a program the first time, everything runs great after. I have turned off the hibernation, indexing and standby, none of these have helped. I purchased this computer as a bare bones kit, everything was assembled I had to load the drivers and operating system (XP service pack 2). any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

How big is the hard drive and how much room is there on it?
Have you had a look at Task Manager when it's running slow, to see how much CPU and RAM is being used?
How much RAM and virtual memory do you have?
What CPU do you have?
Could things be overheating after leaving it running?

 

Go to the Majorgeeks 'drive cleaners' page and download a registry cleaner such as "Wise Registry Cleaner Free" and run it. This will clean up any trash and unnecessary stuff and enable your computer to perform better.

Note; Wise Registry Cleaner Free will start as soon as it opens, I suggest stopping it and uncheck the following: Software Section; Fonts; Help Files; Start Menu; Start-up Program; Sound and AppEvents; Empty Keys; Applications.

Once you've unchecked the above, go into the settings and on the 'Autorun Tab' set auto-run to Automatic, on the General Tab, set 'Automatic Backup' then run the program.
