disable outlook express

How do you disable outlook express mail...
I don't use it and it keeps popping up 'to free up disc space, OE can compact'...
Very annoying and OE is useless to me...

 

Go to Add/Remove in control panel and on the left is add/remove windows components. You can uncheck OE there.

Is this really necessary... it runs me nuts :mad because 'when' it runs it just eats up all my laptop and I can't do 'anything' else:cry...
Can I disable it someway?

What I said above should have done that, it doesn't remove it from your computer but it does disable it. Is there still a problem?

OK... more questions...

#1 wuauclt is driving me nuts :banghead by tying up my computer so much... can I and how do I turn it off?

#2 I bought a Compaq presario V2000 laptop with xp home edition for my wife from some chic for $50 :-D:-D and it works fine.

Now I want to restore it to the original setup because everthing pops up in this chics name. Of course I didn't get the original recovery cds. How do I back up the original software from the computer onto a flash drive and how do I recover the system to the original.

I've looked for all the usual places, i.e. start - all programs - and thru everything for a backup or system recovery.

On my old HP desk top I simply do a restart and tap f 10 and it takes me to the recovery screen and then recovers the system to the original date.
