I made a discovery

I have a cold. Coughing, runny nose, chest congestion, you know, all that fun stuff. Well, I really wanted a diet coke but I heard drinking caffeine isn't a good idea with a cold but I REALLY wanted that diet coke! LOL So, I threw caution to the wind and had my diet coke, it was delicious! I happen to notice after drinking it that my congestion loosened and my nose stop running so much.

I don't know if there is something in the caffeine or it was just a coincidence but I polished off two can and I'm feeling pretty good. I might want to stop though if I wanna sleep tonight. :-D

Wow, 12 a year?? That's horrible!! I don't know how I'd deal! I used to have this super immune system, :strong would get a cold maybe once every 3-4 years and I've gotten one last year and now I got this one year too I guess that's what happens when you get old like me (LOL)

I know, I know.. besides I only have 4 cans left gotta save some for tomorrow. Instead, I've been drinkin my pineapple/orange juice. I'm gonna have to get up so many times tonight to go to the bathroom :-D

That diet stuff can be bad for you. If you drink enough rum, you won't remember your cold. :-D

One person made sense, you are replacing something simple like sugar, with a bunch of chemicals. Heck, I am not a doctor.

And 12 colds is an under par year for me. And they hang around. I'd just gotten over one, and now I'm on the tail end of another. I love winter. (Sarcasm alarm is blaring.)

 

One thing it could be is if your in caffeine withdrawal the caffeine hit has relaxed the blood vessels as its a vasodilator easing the feeling of pain and conjestion and the increased adrenaline has eased any pain your were in.

Wikipedia suggests an alternate method of ingestion a can of diet coke.

If I start getting a cold, I drink Rum. Less expensive flavored Rum, or the really good non flavor added stuff. Jimmy Buffet might fall off a stage, but you never hear of pirates getting a cold. :-D:-D

 

Lots of people prefer their Coke in the can.:-D

 

Suggest you at least let the coffee cool down before trying that method, Rikky. ...And those sugar lumps can be a pain.LOL
