Hi, I posted this yesterday: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?p=1601495#post1601495 and he told me to come here and ask for help before I can go back to trying to remove the spyware. I've written down the text it shows when i get the damn bsod which only seems to occur when I try to do some specific things such as installing some programs (not all, for example I could install Emisoft Anti-Spyware and SUPER Anti-Spyware) like ComboFix. This is it:

    *** STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000000000000017, 0x0000000000000C, 0x000000000000000, 0xFFFFF800024D0489)

    and also

    *** STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000000000000017, 0x0000000000000C, 0x000000000000000, 0xFFFFF80002473489)

    Pretty please help me

    Hi

That BSOD tends to relate to a driver issue and have you installed any new driver updates of late and do you have any yellow ! marks in device manager at all? if so what?

If you boot into safe mode (F8) do you gain the same issues? if you dont then think that one of your startup applications is to blame and using msconfig disable all startups then reboot and see if your PC works ok, if it does then enable one at a time and reboot until you find the application that causes the crash and tell us what it is.

I didn't change any of my drivers, I don't even have an internet connection on that computer. I'm gonna check for !'s as soon as I get home but I don't think there are any. Same thing happens in safe mode, except less often. I disabled the selective startup option in msconfig so I think that shouldn't be the issue. Some specific things cause the BSOD, like trying to install ComboFix and running the crack that started the problem to begin with. What about that not being able to install a new version of Windows, what could be causing that?

    Thank you

As I thought, there were no "!". Here are some more errors I wrote down:

"..." means it repeats till there is no more space or another character comes.

    0x0...1E (0xFFFFFFFFC00000005, 0xFFFF800026C1011, 0x0...0, 0xF...F)

    and also

    0x0...D1 (0xFFFFFA6003CA1788, 0x0....2, 0x0....1, 0xFFFFFA60009C4AD9)
    ataport.SYS adress FFFFFA60009C4AD9
    Datestamp 49e02be1 11 B7000

That's it if I didnt make any mistakes. Also the file that couldn't load after Windows restarted to finish up the installation is Winpeshl.exe and it says it failed to initialize so it´s terminating and something 0xc0000142

    Thanks

Just to be clear, you disabled all startup items in msconfig and you still get blue screens?

Yep. And I also got a different kind of blue screen, I didn't have anything on me to write it down and I forgot what it said. Not much use lol

Try this, based on the fact that in quite a few cases BSOD with different errors indicate a RAM problem, open up the computer and take out all but one stick of RAM. See if it starts up and works properly. It will be slow with less RAM but be patient. If it acts up, turn off the computer, remove this stick and try another. Keep trying the sticks to see if you can pinpoint bad and good sticks. If the computer acts up with every stick of RAM, then it probably is not the RAM causing the problem.

Tried that, didn't work. I think it's not a hardware problem. Any other ideas?

    Hi

Can you attach the info from the below

Basically I want to get a feel of the hardware you have installed.

I'm late to the party again ... LOL

Plodr's correct in suggesting that the randomness of the BSODs can often indicate bad memory.
I'll begin here and work my way through, much of this will be me talking to myself while I try to get a handle on what's been happening ;)
I've highlighted the causes that look like they fit the pattern here.

The last one (0xD1) you said referenced ataport.SYS, this, and given the 'crack' history, could be related to a TDSS type infection = rootkit, which, I think, infects the MBR (which could account for the inability to reinstall Windows).

Do what DavidGP suggested first then tell us, please, if you have another PC you can connect this hard drive to as a slave to enable you to check and copy some files off to find out what drivers are loaded at the time of the BSODs?

The PC will need to be protected with a good, updated Antivirus - I don't want you to scan the problem drive (yet), I just don't want anything bad to happen to the good one :) and it's best to find out what we're up against before deciding what route to take.

Ok. First of all, sorry, I couldn't install Everest. It's gotten worse... before the day before yesterday if I didn't get a BSOD after about 3 minutes from log on I could keep using the computer. watch videos, listen to music and read stuff, pretty much (all offline). I could even play some games. however even then there were some things like installing some programs that would make it bsod. So if i was patient it was still usable, which is why I took so long to answer this thread. but now it won't work anymore, no matter how many times i try restarting it. even in safe mode this happens. i know it can't be hardware unless its related to the hd, because my other one with the expired version of windows works fine whether i use the limited version that allows people to buy the cd key online or in safe mode. i'm gonna try to install a new version of windows on the working hd from a flash drive and keep using that. and no, unfortunately i don't have another computer, just that other hd. anything else i could try?
    thanks

Exactly what/which crack are you referring to in the third post in this thread? :)

Hi. You mentioned a crack in your third post and you stated this as well in your last post: "because my other one with the expired version of windows works fine whether i use the limited version that allows people to buy the cd key online or in safe mode." Please explain.

Are you running a purchased version of windows?
