Thinking something is wrong...

    I have found a few things after a few programs started acting up. First program is HP Officejet software and the printer suddenly disappeared. Second is system restore showing a bunch of repeat entries. Third is windows live essentials not opening stating an error has occurred, things may not have been saved and upon clicking on okay will close but then continue to try to receive email without finishing (starts to download inbox but hangs)

    I have used Revo Uninstaller to remove first the HP software then Live essentials. I have reinstalled but with errors to Live essentials.

    I have files attached, I will add one showing the numerous system restore entries after reinstalling HP.

    OS: XP Home SP3, Quad core, 4GB installed *matching pair 2gb, and runs slow at times

    So to clarify if you suspect malware you will have to go through all of the usual procedures. READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide Otherwise you will have to post about these issues in the software forum. The items found in system restore will not be detected if you toggle system restore but do not do that yet. However what issues you are describing are software related not malware.

    I toggled system restore after finding those things in the photos and texts below. I had done most of what was on the first page already however.

    I have used to scan:
    SuperAntispyware
    Malwarebytes
    AntiVir Antivirus

    All of these were already on the computer.

    I do not show duplicate entries anymore for system restore points. Used Ccleaner > tools > system restore to view those restore points.

    finished cleaning all quarantine items from all programs mentioned.

    If you still need my help then you will be required to provide me with logs from running:

    • Malware Bytes
    • SUPERantispyware
    • RootRepeal
    • Combofix
    • MGTools

    But as I said, your problems are not malware related I don't think.
